Regarding the original problem that the drives tries to take too much juice is more related to the HDD than the controller, I'm pretty sure.
Might be, but the drive and the controller might be a factor. The bridge boards are physically different, they might have different power draws, no way to tell. USB 2.0 powered them both so they were both under 5V or whatever the limitation of USB 2.0 power is.mali said:Regarding the original problem that the drives tries to take too much juice is more related to the HDD than the controller, I'm pretty sure.

Watched videos directly from it at full speed, no need for powered USB hub.
Had issues playing roms directly off it however as it was formatted NTFS. I'm sure if I formatted to FAT32 these would disappear.
Noticed from the replay above that there is a USB supported list. Would some please let me know where that is so I can upload my own results for various gadgets.

The Chinese government doesn't recognized Taiwanese sovereignty, but they have their own independent government, military, tax system etc., and do get their own weapons from the US, that's hardly indicative of being a part of China. North and South Korea are still technically at war as they've never signed anything to formally end the Korean war that's been technically ongoing since the 50s. Like Taiwan, both have their own independent systems of governance, weapons, taxes etc.WombleGoneBad said:In the spirit of splitting inconsequential hairs unrelated to the actual discussion (the lifeblood of this forum). I'd just like to point out that Taiwan *is* china. Just, umm, a different china kinda like how north and south korea are both still korea.
I'm not sure on what basis you'd suggest that they're one in both cases.[/end threadjack]
I have no video camera, so I won't be able to shoot a video of this. (Nor would I want to! I'm not plugging that thing in again.)Kloplop321 said:I would love to see a video of this
Though I take no responsibility if something BAD happens
It's quite recent - it was bought two days before I tested it with the Pandora.hobbyman II said:maybe the drive that started this thread was an early model, and they revised it later to use less power, needs looking into more imo.

What's the point of a spec sheet that doesn't show the power the unit draws LOL.
