I was reading this thread about speculating on new features we'd like to see in a possible successor to the GP32, and it got me wondering. Seeing as Gamepark is quite a smallish company and has (for now) a smaller but loyal userbase of hardcore fans, has any (english speaking) members of Gamepark actually visited this site. I mean, do they really know how many fans and support they actually have, or any of the suggestions we might have? And are there any representatives that we can collectively talk to. Just wondering...

There's one (a marketing guy) who speaks English quite good.

Then this marketing guy should've done the reviews for their games instead of making them sound like total shit.

Lol! Well, don't they keep in touch with the community? Or how for instance would the community go about collectively contacting Gamepark?

Forget GamePark. Good Product but shitty marketing and noone beside that one guy speaks english. They should better sell their know-how and let do the marketing job someone else. I do not know any company beside GamePark Holdings who do threat their costumers in that bad way they actually do (eg changing hardware config which makes old stuff work wrong (BLU+), etc ...). A korean company should not seek for worldwide costumers if they are not ready for it. If anyone from GamePark is reading that... I am still waiting for two important e-mail answers!

Noone should misunderstand me... I love my GP32... but the company behind it... just forget it...

They clearly weren't ready, we all agree with that. But the main reason why they went worldwide is that the South Korean government financially supports exporting companies. So they had to sell GP32's outside Korea to get subsidies, ready to go international or not.

At least that's what akumajo said a while ago(akumajo is a guy who actually gets answers from and knows people at Gamepark).

:) heh, I read his name as BumHole Lee the first time I glanced at it, now that would be a great name.

I think only 2 people deal with the GP32 side of Gamepark (if indeed there are any other sides) and they both speak english, one better than the other. They certainly check releases of things and are most interested in media players.

Don't you think one of the fun things about the GP32 is the fact that you have to work to get it to work. It's not exactly plug and pray (I mean play) like the GBA is.

The GP32 is more of a specialist system and I personally don't think Jo Public would see the appeal of it myself. Granted that you can get commercial games for it that you just throw in the media and play, but that's not where the appeal of the GP32 is. For example, Doom. To play the full game you will have to have formatted media with enough room left on it, install Doom and then copy an official WAD file to the correct folder etc etc... Now to do all that I know a lot of my friends who own GBAs would have to be on the phone to me every 5 mins "Clare, how do I do this and that HEELLLP!"

When I first came across the GP32 on Craigs site, I was surprised to it being described as "More like a portable computer than a handheld". That pricked my interest and I still think it's a great system. Personally I have a PSP as well, but there's still things about that that hasn't got the flare of the GP32.

To summ up, I don't really mind what Gamepark do, the fact that I have to use my noggin tinkering with the GP32 is one of the things that make it fun for me!

Tatty bye for now,
Clare :)

ok, forgiven :) Its the end of summer here (in New Zealand). In my part of NZ that still means nothing. Cloudy, 23-24 deg celcius if you're lucky! Though we did have aa few weeks of 27 degree, sunny weather - that was great!
