Can't QEMU run x86 Linux programs through some kind of host mode or something? Could this be used to run Skype for Linux on the Pandora or Pyra?

Ah, but then I can't copy/paste anything. Also, Android freezes repeatedly and Skype doens't even work. It says "Skype has stopped working" if I try to log in.

ok i will try it again, maybe newer Versions wor better ^_^

Maybe there is a Slim Version or another Way for it ;)

but first i will update the Stunts PND :)

Thanks! I mostly would like to know how to use QEMU to do this sort of thing.

I got this Qemu-i386 and Wine Stuff only running in Slackware.

A simple Thing for Testing is my premade Image with the Windows Software USBIT

Here the Link to the Image:

http://qemu.openpandora.org/PandoraOperatingSystems/Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86.gz

(all Passwords are pandora in this Image)

I will install it yet :)

Edit:

OOps its a DD Image in this Case.

You can install it in the Pandora with Terminal Command

gunzip -c ./Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/mmcblk0p1

The Image is for minimum 8 GB Cards, when you use a bigger SD Card can you with Gparted simply grow the Filesystem ;)

Edit: Its writing..its writiiing...muhahahaaaa

my Command under normal Linux was as su:

gunzip -c ./Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86.gz | dd of=/dev/sdg1

sdg1 is the first Partition on my experimental SD Card.

Edit: Little error,you need min 16GB Card,sorry

Well, it won't boot. It has autoboot.txt, but the Pandora is ignoring it. I tried renaming it to boot.txt, but when I check the bootloader menu, it's not there.

Strange it run fine here.(the Slackware not the Skype for now)

Experimented a bit more and the Knoppix Libraries work not in the Gnemul Directory.

Maybe i must ask LinuxBochs from what for a Linux he used the X86 Libraries for the Gnemul Directory.

Ingoreis, I noticed the image you provided is just a gzip file.. did you take account for file permission and ownership preservation? If not it would uncompress with all the wrong permissions and such.

I would try compressing it into a tar.gz file

tar -pczf name_of_your_archive.tar.gz /path/to/directory

Hi.there cannot be a right Problem, because DiskDump Dump all into the Image from the Partition.

Its an Image Software and you can install it when you just copy the File onto a Stick and an SD Card with 16GB in first Pandora Slot

with this Command:

gunzip -c /media/USBSTICK/Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/mmcblk0p1

This Way is tested and working is confirmed from the German Forum User Raik ;)

After looong writing and end in the Terminal please wait more because the write Caches are still writing Data.

Please wait until the SD Led i not more blinking ^_^

all Passwords in this Image are

pandora

and it can be that the Filesystem will be checked and it boot twice on first boot but work fine :)

Edit: Pandora can only boot from SD Cards in the left Slot, maybe it was that

Well, I unzipped it normally, and then used "sudo dd if=Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86 of=/dev/sdc/" /dev/sdc is the SD card reader on my laptop.

"sudo dd if=Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86 of=/dev/sdc/" /dev/sdc is the SD card reader on my laptop.
ah you did it on this Way?

Maybe its the Thing that you must write it as Partition1

when sdc is the sd card reader you must write it to sdc1

should be this Command directly fro the GZ:

change to the Directory where the GZ is and:

gunzip -c ./Pandora-Slackware14-8-Wine-X86.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/sdc1

should work...

...Your Way wrote it without Partition onto the SD and maybe this was wha the Pandora did not boot from it :)

good Luck ;)

(i learned all this from the Forum User Raik ;)   )

I've never partitioned SD cards. I suppose I have to add a partition to make sdc1 appear?

dd (DiskDump)makes that automatic with this command for you.

Just copy/paste and it should work ;)
