The admin also replied to a post about the dissapointment some users have in the GP2X joystick. It seems that Game Park are planning on possibly replacing the old joystick for a new design. We'll keep you updated...
agreed. A small amount of $ is fine with me if they can significantly improve the stick.I'd be willing to pay a small fee to get my joystick "fixed"... And if they'd see if the LCD is actually not faulty, that'd be grand.
am I the only one who is perfectly happy with the default joystick?

Aside from those with concave thumbs, seems so ...

The "someone posted on GP2x" was my post (customer suggestion 2070) :
"The joystick on the GP2x is not good. Can we have D-Pads instead please, like on the Nintendo? The central button on the joystick currently can always be sited with a micro button somewhere else on the GP2x.
If this isn't possible, how about a better joystick; one which is better designed for up/down/left/right rather than a bias towards diagonals?
How about a better joystick cap, ie one where your thumb doesn't keep sliding off."
Admin's reply was:
"it is actually Dpad.
but it is not designed well.
We are planning to make and sell or give better one for replacement"
I agree with Toxic's reply on GP2x site:
"A new dpad? Wow, that sounds great... actually the
old dpad was my only convern in regards of buying a
gp2x... as soon as this replacement is available, I
think I'll buy a gp2x "
Craigx - any idea when this new joystick might be available for sale on new Gp2x units? Is this one of the improvements we are awaiting in the "final" release in March(ish) being discussed (if so, this is the time to buy!) B)
