Content Ratings

I'd just like to know what generally is in a game. I'm sure that'll be described somewhere, but I'd like to know.
For example, if I abhor horror or orgies just let me know that's not in the game and I'll get it.

Dunny and Darien have proven once and for all why compulsory dev assigned ratings will never work in the real world. Seriously though, I suspect that the "ratings" of games will self-regulate after a short time. A standard and enforced rating system is as Chip so eloquenty puts it is, "neither necessary nor desirable." If you're unsure of the content or character of the game, ask the public. Someone will give you an honest answer.

Bingo! You, sir, win a banana. And yes, if there is an enforced dev-assigned rating system then I shall abuse it so much that its arse will be permanently stuck open and need to use tampons to stop from shitting itself.

Just saying, like.

The content rating shouldnt be really usable in appstore which operates worldwide. In some countries mature means having +18 in other +25.

anyway if youre not mature and playing in mature/adult/gore games on pandora you should always keep your mum near you. Mums knows the limits better that any other content rating crap..

What about user rating instead. If it contains childporn or racially discriminatory violence or is just full of bugs and unplayable, it will be downvoted. Then we cover everything/anything and the review board is made of the users themsleves. Also it makes it harder for people to cheat. And the appstore is kept OPEN and FREE. And for the specifics just read the user comments that go with the up or down thumb.

The problem is that vote system didnt work very well on gp2x repo, because nobody really wants to vote, so will it be effecient in pandora app store?

Violence, Coarse Language, Adult Themes

:)

Just out of curiosity, if there is an enforced dev-assigned game categorisation system, will you also abuse that and post puzzle games under RPGs and text adventures under first person shooters?

@Dannyxzero
Exactly, which is why I wanted the community to rate the games. Unfortunately....

well the comments system worked ok enough to figure out troubles and/or fixes. and if nobody wanted to vote it's probably because everything is more or less average. I have yet to see total crap and pure gems on gp2x repo...

Don't be silly!

They'll be categorised under "Emulation; N64 and Dreamcast".
