woah.. I seem to have stirred up some trouble.

sorry guys, I didn't realise it would cause such a reaction.

I never play SNES games on my BLU(minus) anyway. Not enough keys, and it's slow. Get a BLU+ straightaway and enjoy it.

Pinball dreams unplayable? What have I been playing all day then....?
Well, I don't know if you play it with sound.
On a normal GP, the sound makes sometimes a small crack or pop. Not very often though.

And I REALLY wanted to play it on my BLU+ - but I couldn't stand it for more than 3 minutes, because the constantly crackling sound gets on my nerves (and I'm one of the players who only have fun playing with sound).

But apart from that, the BLU+ is fine and a VERY nice machine :)

Quite simply any one of the major emulators is worth getting a GP32 for let alone the multitude that are available these days. Add that to the quality Homebrew scene and there really is no reason not to get one.

This is getting crazy. I have a blu+ and have every damn emulator working fine (anything worth having anyway including snes, nes, mame, md, ms, st, zx, sc3000).
What can we do about this?
I think we need some sort of a link that can be pointed to that will tell exactly what to expect if someone gets a blu+.
Then if a potential buyer posts a query (and fair enough that they do, it's not a small purchase) we can just reply with the link.
I'm willing to suppy a long text on what to expect as a new blu+ owner ( I got one of the first blu+ units) but can't set up the site.
If whoever in the board would like me to do that please pm me and it'll be done inside a couple of days, no problem. Good to give back etc.
Seems to be the easy way to fix the problem (instead of repeating ourselves over and over).

Like I said...

I think we should have an official announcement across all major GP32 sites that the BLU+ "issue" is NOT a major issue.

EDIT: I'm thinking we should unpin that horrible BLU+ thread and put a copy of the said announcement in that place. Then maybe lock it...

That would be an excellent idea. Myself being a potential user who untill a few days ago had no GP32 knowledge what so ever, having found one fault with the GP32 then led me looking for others (you just got to be sure before you part with your £'s). Putting all the this information in one place is the way to go. Good Luck.

:)

We should destroy the old thread because they are outdated. Almost all thing work on blu+ Cept osnes and numo and a few other things, but most major stuff works...
So, for a nonlit owner like myself considering upgrading to a BLU, which are the programs that do not work correctly? I agree, a new stick thread should be created to quash the rumours.

I'm fairly new to the GP32 scene so far. Luckily or not when I finally decided to buy mine I got me a BLU+ apparently.
I'm not disappointed, though.

Sure there's the crackly sound on Pinball Dreams demo, but I do not think that's got anything to do with the BLU+ (BTW is the full version out? I can't find out anything about it), and I do get the white lines on some stuff.
I'm pretty sure everyone that's working on software for this little baby is soon enough gonna include the support for the Taiwanese LCD.

The only thing that has bothered me so far was not being able to emulate SNES without that aweful line, or maybe I just didn't gather enough patience to find if there was any support for the Taiwanese LCD in the emulator.

The unit is still great though, and I will never regret having bought it. No one in Portugal (that I know of) ever heard of this before but I'm gonna get as many people as I can into it :D

Cheers

The full version is available to download from Gamepark's website for a paltry $7: http://www.gamepark.com/eng/games/games_vi...re=%B1%E2%C5%B8
