Dear OP community,
Over the last few years, you guys have been extremely respectful, kind, and patient with me. I know that I've mostly vanished (been hard at work in school and learning to be a journalist) and right now, I'm in the middle of a dilemma:
I still want a Pandora, but I'm not sure if it's the right machine for me. I mean, learning to program on the go? Creating a game out of a console? That has *MASSIVE* appeal to me, and it's definitely something I want to do. The thing is, I saw the price of the 1 GhZ Pandora. At current, I'm far away (monetarily) from being able to afford one. I understand that the money's going to an awesome cause- helping out F/OSS technology and independent development- I'm just a little apprehensive. Should I get a job and buy the machine? Should I save my money and wait for the next iteration? I just don't know. Right now my Pandora fund (which was partially fueled by you guys the community isn't big enough.
Right now, I'm just going to wait and see how everything turns out. There's a project I'm working on- it's mostly secret- but if it succeeds, it could bring me the cash for a Pandora (and more). If the project turns out right, then I'm definitely buying a Panda ASAP. If not, then what? I'm not sure.
One thing's for certain, though- Open Pandora will be receiving my money. I support them and this community. You guys have invested your time and money in me. One way or another, I'll return the favor.
So OP community, wat do? If the project fails, should I get a job and buy a Panda immediately or wait for the next iteration?
