You guys need to brush up on your computing history - I'm appalled. ;)

Seriously, though... Commodore is just a name that gets passed from company to company nowadays, just like Atari is. This is nothing to do with the original Commodore - it's just where the name currently is. (The same goes for the "Commodore Gaming" mentioned in Wrath of Khan's post.)

Anyone who remembers British company Escom's generic x86 Windows 95 boxes from 1996 (before they went bust), which bore Commodore branding, and anyone who recalls the "VIC-20" MP3-player from around 2003 or 2004, has seen this sort of thing before. :p

There was a vic 20 mp3 player?bizarre. :D

^ I'm not sure if they actually released it (I'm going to have to look it up, now), but it was showcased at one point. The result was somewhat like that scene in Star Wars, with the line about the great disturbance in the Force. :p

EDIT: Yep, they released it. (And, my apologies, it was 2006, not 2003/2004.)

Hum, do you know that Amiga isn't a brand name but a line of computer made by Commodore?
yes but amiga international own the rights to amiga related properties,it says they have licenced it to commodre. This is a new commodre not the original commodre, and so commodre and amiga are reunited :)
