checking back in

Craig is right, bear in mind, that Starcraft runs good at 1000+ mhz.

Pandora OC to 1000mhz? Whats the max OC potential of it? Heat generated would be redunculous, I live in Australia, so ambient heat is stupid as it is.

There is no heat generated, the Pandora just locks up and needs a restart, if you clock too high.

No worries. i can overclock to 1024 relatively stable in qemu, but at least 900 should be possible at opp5 for everyone, no guarantee though.

The Pandora does not generate heat like you are imagining, it isn't an X86.

Well, qemu takes every bit of cpu power and drains the battery faster as at 600mhz. But 6 hours under heaviest load is still very impressive :)

I remember that i found Tibia to be rather cpu-demanding for a 2D-tilebased game, when trying it back some years. However I can't recall any details. I just remember that during the years that i played it, i tried both - the windows-version with wine as well as the Linux-version. Still it's worth a try.

Would it in theory bring a slightly better result to run qemu with the Linux-version within a qemu-Linux-environment instead of running it within Windows95/98? Not sure.

Anyway ... after playing it for more than 10 (with some breaks) years for free, I am happy to have (hopefully) beaten it the only way you can beat the game 2 years and 6 days ago (Last login: May 02 2010, 14:56:49 CEST) -> I stopped playing it. The greed-focused majority of players and the (virtual-)materialistic-game-developments of CIP (the producer) helped me with that. :)

If there is a native linux version, one could try to run it in a linux system in qemu. But newer linux distros are quite heavy, too, so no clue if it might work. The only option is to try.

Lol that's impressive, I've been playing since 2003, and I'm probably the lower level'd player of that time, I enjoy it though, mana sitting, socialising etc. I agree that CIP are a bunch of assholes, and are doing their best to ruin a good game, however, I agree with soem things and disagree with others, overall it's a fairly balanced game. (not for pvp, I lag to much in Australia for pvp, but PvE is still decent)

I'm looking forward to trying it, i'll search for the best results that I can, either in linux or windows. I only plan on mana sitting and chatting essentially, so not really much movement, but it might not even run. I'll take whatever result i can, just gonna tinker I guess.

Would linux handle the wifi problem better? I can just try the different linux versions to find the lightest.... All good, i'll do some tinkering when I get my Panda and post my results I guess. Something I can contribute :D lol
