Charger Just Blew Up... Literally...

Did you mean to say, "The Pandora cannot be charged while it's off."?
If you plug the charger in while the pandora is off, it will automagically turn on.
So yes, the pandora need to be on while charging. You can use low-power mode to make that a little bit faster.

Thanks, sebt3. I will keep that in mind when I have my Pandora. Didn't arrive today - fingers crossed for tomorrow! :)

Okay. Today I bought new charger, had to pay about 35$ (!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU) because there aren't any standard PSP chargers.
But after I plugged everything - it's all fine. Well, it's seems so. Probably all what happened even before that charger blew up is because it was faulty. And battery wasn't charging. Now it charging and pandora seems to work.

Also there's one really bad problem with pandora itself - left shift (shoulder button) almost doesn't work... I have to press it really hard for it to register click. I think I can fix it myself but I don't want to nullify warranty... what should I do about it?

And what about charger? Can I hope to recieve one that is working?

I'm sorry that this question isn't really on-topic, but would you mind mentioning what kind of adapter you had, before it blew up? Was it the all-in-one kind with a regional adapter, or the kind with the figure-of-eight connector for attaching local cables? (I ask as I know that the team have used two kinds, and I've basically ended up with one of each - I don't want to risk using one that could go bad!)

About the shoulder button, Moxie posted about the same issue on the other forum, recently (complete with highly-detailed photographs). However, I don't know what the warranty implications are.

errr... adpater that blew up was the default pandora adapter that I received with it. And it wasnt working properly from the start. It didn't charge the battery.
And after that adapter blew up I bought new one. With it now everything seems to work fine.

ah, sorry, didn't get your question at first.
it was one similar to shis:

About shoulder button - it feels like it's jammed. Right is fine, but left - is stiff like something stuck inside so it can't be pressed. It works if I press it REALLY hard, but it's not an option... I don't want to ruin my pandora. I'd gladly disassembled and fixed it myself but I can't do that because of warranty. So, i'm not sure what to do.

^ Thanks very much for the answer. :) (I've noticed that that kind runs hotter than the other type that the team used to supply, and it causes my Pandora to heat up a LOT more during the charging process, so I had already stopped using it.)

ED just helped me in ICQ, now everything is resolved! Thank you ED for helping me to fix all of the issues, thank you OP team for an awesome device! ^_^

Now I'm going to fully enjoy my trip to vietnam with my pandora ^_^
