C4A competition in October!

Once you remembered where all enemys are you can just walk through. Till you reach the astreoid field of course.

Cobbler, stick to your trade...

I think I will continue developing tools and games. My Highscore for mini slug is somewhere around 1600... -_-

*sigh if the server would be up sometimes that would be great.

I have the feeling I implemented caching at the right time. :)

Too late for some stuff tho  :(

I found out i cannot join the scoreboard for a7xpg. And i would be second there even!

Seems it checks for a working wlan connection before uploading which i dont have.

Edit: Oh i just looked into the pnd, removing the check was actually quite easy.

Also now it gives me popups after closing telling me what my score was and if it got uploaded, nice.

Now i need that to make that highscore again.

Jeeeha.

Worth the pain in the thumb.

A7xpg turned rather painful in the end.

Hey Asmo how in the world is that -60s score done? Its beyond anything i can imagine.

also ekianjo: "there’s no surprise for the first spot, since MAT was so much ahead"

Look at the maze at the very start - the ghosts spawn in the upper center of the maze middle. The maze is symmetrical - so if you (I always use the fast rotation) rotate either left or right at the start, carefully pausing a tiny bit on the way to either power pill (going for it from 'above' not below), you can trap the three ghosts in the middle before you swallow the power pill.

ETA: To clarify, at the start you rotate hard in either direction (I go right first, but whatever you prefer) so all three ghosts line up, still in the center. You are 'above' the power pill (technically, below - but 'above' because you're going to flip the maze). You flip the maze hard almost all the way around, with a tiny pause to control the trapping of the ghosts. Done right, two will slot into one of the two openings, the third will be mobile but stuck beside the two others blocking the exit.

NOW you eat the pill and RAPIDLY drop straight down onto them, immediately then flipping the maze on it's side so you are in the corner of the maze center, as they respawn onto you.

You can't afford any delay, you may as well restart if you don't get to them without any delay. Slightly slow turning down a corner? Restart. Briefly overshoot an opening on the way? Restart. It has to be done in a single continuous motion.

Once you eat them, immediately flip the maze on it's side and as the ghosts respawn, they'll drop right into your mouth - so if you're fast, you can get as many as 10, but certainly 9. The 3 when you shot down there first, then 6 more as they respawn.

The trick is, the first time you do this, don't try to escape - let the 10th or 11th ghost that respawns kill you - this way you'll respawn in the original start point with what should already be -35 score or better, and you can repeat the same tactic mirrored exactly - only on the second attempt you don't let yourself get killed, if you've made it to the trapped ghosts after eating the pill, without any delay, you can get them, then flip the maze and swallow 6 more - immediately flipping it again to escape as they return to normal. You will end up with better than -70 seconds on the clock. Enough to clear the maze - and two remaining power pills to push the minus score -30 or more further if you are quick.

Start following straight lines to clear dots, don't waste time 'turning corners' - and when you notice in the corner of your vision that all three ghosts are together in a corner, then is the time to eat one of the remaining pills and use fast flipping to keep them there so you can get all three each time!

Elw3, what about your score in Mini Slug? The only way I can think of for getting such a score would be staying in a place where the enemies never stop coming and keep shooting them for a few hours. Or is it possible just playing "normally"? I guess there might  be other ways which I've just not figured out.

Oh poo i had that idea but abolished it since i found no way to trap all three...

Yea matti youre right. The three enemies at the end of the first mission respawn forever. I discovered that pretty late, after you beat my first score.

A pretty silly glitch for this great game, and it was very annoying to use. I think this also works at the Rocket in the third mission.

I made like 50000 points that way and then continued to the faster normal way.

Actually that is a big problem in this game anyway, if you just camp on a spot and kill every possible enemy even the first few meters, the lorry in particular, have more than 5000 points.

And if you can camp for points the whole gameplay is destroyed.

Pretty much sucks to find that kind of problem while a contest was on, but its not that we have an "pnd-call-back" option here.

To be fair, Clement (the original author) warned me about this glitch when adding C4A, but the fix needed to modify the level and I forgot.

Anyway finishing with 1 credit is already a good achievement!
