Hello, I´m listening to Audiobooks and other long soundfiles from time to time and noticed that the fastforward function in the Gp2x is just ridiculous, in Gmu it doesn´t even exist.. Neither there is a Resume or Bookmark function. I think that would be a great thing to have and easy to realise too.. Can anyone do that ??

Yeah I want bookmark function too, but the devs don't feel the need to add this right now. Most people use the music players for music only which doesn't really need bookmarks.

The original music player does a decent job of fast forwarding. I have been listening to audio books too and its not too difficult to use.

I agree, however, that a bookmark/resume functionality would be an excellent feature to add to the homebrew applications

It is possible (and I can add it to craigamp - which has FF/RR already) but the problem is the time it takes to FF/RR if you go several minutes into a file it will take several minutes for the GP2X to reach that point as it has to quickly decode everything as it goes to reach the point.

This is a bug (?) of the SDL playback commands. I think I know how to hack up a system to make it go a lot faster but it will require a lot of experimenting.

I'll add it to my list as i'm working on CraigAmp 3.0 at the moment.

Too bad that it's so hard to implement this. But even if it is slow, it's better than manually searching for the position.

I noticed the ff/rw slowness after updating to the 2.1 firmware. Before that it was pretty fast. Bookmarks, slow or not, would be great.

Thanks Craig, that'll be useful to me too!

And thanks for the GP32 stuff, spectrum text adventure time!

You caught me there. I am still using FW 2.0.0. Haven't gotten around to upgrading. Maybe there is not really a reason to do it.
