hack hack hack, the little machines fight back
okay, i've got a USB cable hacked up to my EXT port, using pins 9 and 10 (USBH-/+) of the EXT port, based on the details from the wiki. as far as the cable goes, its just a straight wire-up from the EXT connector, pins 9 and 10, to the +/- pins of a USB Host adapter (the square end) .. and this is plugged into a hub. perhaps i need more than just this wiring, but hey .. i'm a programmer, not a hardware guy, and the hardware guy says thats all i should need .. 
so .. i have a custom kernel, based on the stuff that we have so far, booting my gp2x, with the PLX drivers, and with the following config (note the CONFIG_MMSP2_* entries):
this is the result of my test session:
(i dunno what those "+'s" are all about .. wasn't getting those with the stock kernel .. perhaps i should be investigating those a bit further...)
anyway, based on this:
and .... i'm assuming all else is fine ... so, i plug in my USB-1.1 hard-drive enclosure, which doesn't have power (darn it, why'd i lose that adapter), but wtf, lets try it anyway, and i get the following new results from a dmesg:
hmmm... those last lines (up to '0' ports detected) only come about when i switch on the USB disk drive, so .. does this mean EXT *is* wired to USB-Host on the MMSP2?
i'm still hacking/debugging, but in case any of you guys have any clues, i thought i'd better get this thread rolling .. if i can get external storage working next, i will let you know ..

hmmm... those last lines (up to '0' ports detected) only come about when i switch on the USB disk drive, so .. does this mean EXT *is* wired to USB-Host on the MMSP2?
i'm still hacking/debugging, but in case any of you guys have any clues, i thought i'd better get this thread rolling .. if i can get external storage working next, i will let you know ..
