Any way of turning off the fps display in snesemu?

Maybe if someone knew what they were doing with a hex editor then removing it could be done by hacking the fxe with one? I know changing rom dirs and speed overclocking have been done with the snes emulators, but I dunno if it's any harder to simply remove a display of fps status during emulation

It is possible to switch of the FPS counter using a hex editor - do a text search for 'FPS'. Once it finds the string you'll see next to it ' %d' - that's where the code puts the number in.

To remove the counter, replace all the characters (ie 'FPS %d') with spaces.

Hope this helps - it doesn't get rid of the line above the characters though, although that's much less noticeable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you'd need to implement (and optimize) the sound core part of an emulator, it just isnt "there" to begin with if the part that runs the games is emulated, unless the sound is turned off but if it was then turning it on would had been an option in the first place... besides, if you still had the FPS display, and there was sound on at the emu's current (and only) release, you'd probably be seeing "0.4 FPS" on there ;)
