Ive started to listen to The Code and Operation Ivy recently, i higly recomend opreation ivy as they're old skool punk/ska, no horns tho but tis all good!
Thats where bands like Rage against the machine come in, they have a purpose of seniding a political message accross, and i think they've been the most successful at givin the middle finger to authority as far as ive seen, i mean ud only see the democratic national convention concert to understand what i mean.RoboJoe32 posted on May 15 2004 at 09:45 AM said:I was agreeing with enslaved untill every other word in a sentence became "gay"
Also, Do people actually listen to SKA? It's happier school band music for christ's sakes.
Also, I like SOME punk music, but isn't selling your music with a band name under a record company the opposite of rebellion and ****ing the system?
Yeah, they really stick to those capitalist fat cats! (While sitting in their mansions smoking communist Cuban cigars and sipping fine wines... probably)Ernest posted on May 15 2004 at 10:18 AM said:Thats where bands like Rage against the machine come in, they have a purpose of seniding a political message accross, and i think they've been the most successful at givin the middle finger to authority as far as ive seen, i mean ud only see the democratic national convention concert to understand what i mean.

I've seen a couple of Rancid songs on MTV2 before. It was on quite often at one point.finty101 posted on May 15 2004 at 09:18 AM said:Rancid are punk, i am yet to see or hear a rancid song on the tv or radio, sure i never watch tv or listen to radio, but my sisters do, alot. so if they did play rancid on MTV im sure i woulda heard it by know. And rancid do sing from the heart, they write about there own expeiences and stuff. i do listen to other old punk, and i have to say rancid are very much inline with that, they arnt trying to be "punk rock" or new punk. bands that wreck it are ones like good charlot (sp), they, on many occasions, have claimed to be punk, but there music deffinitly comes from the wallet.
My point was they claim to be anti-capitalist but are themselves rich. Couldn't stand their screeching anyway! But each to their own.Ernest posted on May 15 2004 at 04:08 PM said:You obviously dont know much bout rage then do you!!
But they gave alot of money as support towards wrongfly improsined people like Mumia abu jamal (if thats how spell it) and many others and causes etc, but i dont rele hink its majorly important to be honest as u said, each to their own!thebluenewt posted on May 15 2004 at 08:31 PM said:My point was they claim to be anti-capitalist but are themselves rich.
