All them tiny Handheld who shall not deserve its own Thread

Had at least the time yesterday to test a few Systems on this thing: Gameboy (Tetris), GBA (Pinball), PSP (Colin MC Rae Rally 2005 Plus), Dreamcast (Capcom vs SNK), and even though these Emulators are the ones that where shipped whit the Handheld, they run quite fine, and even though someone did say GBA and PSP dosnt look good on the 1:1 Screen, im fine whit them .. , did also test a few of my Android Games ( i had a few on my Account because of the Xperia Play), the Controller is working whitouth issues on GTA3, and Cut the Rope works also whitouth issues..

From the Android itself: its a Rootet Version, which means Apple Musik dosnt work, but Youtube Musik works, and its also contains an FM Radio which works also good .. , so it might be not the ideal Tablet whit 4 Inch, but for a few things its also quite usuable ..

The Hardware looks nice, and the Buttons are also working good whit my Hands, its dosnt feel cramped even though it is an "PSP" on the Size of an GBA Classic,

I have only a few things i dont like: Why is there no Hole for an Lanyard? It was allready missing on the Win600 and the RG35XX SP, and to put in the SD Card, its quite hard , so i hope everything works as far as i did finish this afternoon the Copy Over Prozess of PS2, Gamecube, PS1 and 3DS .. ..

Its got an Android Phone like Standbye Mode, so you can pause your Game and Come back later..

In Conclusion if the PS2 and Gamecube Emulator are also running that fine, i think its a much nicer Emulator Handheld than the GPD Win Mini, its not that Heavy, its got this PSP Style Screen Button Order, so PSP Games where you hold the Handheld different will also work much better than on Clamshell

The Win Mini is still nice for PC Games, but this feels much more natural for the Emulator Games..

So my best Anbernic Device so far: The Win600 was not that bad, but was a bit too slow, the RG35XX SP is a nice GBA SP Style System but i like the Cube now much more ..

Shure there are lots of Options to play Emulators on the Go, and the Cube might not be for everyone, but i like it ..^^

Like i did write; i did not had the time to test everything beside PSP, Dreamcast and the Gameboys sadly, i dont have any PS3 Games so they want find its way on the Handheld,
And this thing is small, but i had bad Experiences whit the Revo GBA Back then whit Pocket Carry Non Clamshell Handhelds ..
But N64 and PS1 should run quite fine, they did allready run quite good on the RG35XX SP ..

My issue is that my Body wants allmost every evening to go to the big "bussines", so i have only a small Window on these long Workdays for Unbox and at least Copy a bit stuff over..

The SD Card and my USBC SD Card Reader are not that slow by the way: i did need from 20 to 21:30 for copy over the stuff that is allready there.., so i expect the PS2, PS1, Gamecube and 3DS maybe to take the whole Afternoon today .. i dont want to let the MacMini Copy over Stuff over night, as i dont know how it will handle this whit the Standbye Mode.. but it dit work yesterday also whitouth my help quite good, so i might be able to at least Copy them over in pairs ..

Might also i screw the Youtube Watching Stuff to an tiny degree, and will start to play more on this Handheld..

So after test afternoon 2: Was quite fast to copy over the other Emulator Games, i did discover that the RetroLauncher dosnt got every System in its list, the whole Atari Stuff and Sega Gamegear per Exemple where not present, but you can acces them via the RetroArch App..
Oh an like on every Mobile Devices these days, might be some Performance issues where that its holds the Emulators bevor still in its Ram, when you push the Square Button on an Android Device its opens the Bar whit the currently open Apps.. so might be lots of Emulators where running simular .. did not test this yet..

Not every Games runs that well on the PSP Emulator: Motorstorm Arctic Edge is somehow playable, but its got its issue, others, expecialy the Beat em Ups are running fine..
Might be Motorstorm is on of the thoughest Games on the PSP, , the PS2 Emulator seems to run, but also not every Game: Gran Turismo4 is too slow, others are fine, GTA3 works whitouth issues.. , Gamecube did not run that good, i had slowdowns on Soul Calibur, but Mario Kart did work good, but had an strange filter over it..
Oh and the Anbernic Launcher got some issues finding every Game, i have only 8 on the Launcher, but lots more when i open them via the Folder Menue,,
3DS works, but also not on every game: Where Mario Kart7 runs fine, Kirby Planet Robobot got slowdowns..
PS1 and Dreamcast dosnt got any issues ...

I think whit the Stock Emulators it depents quite on the Core, at least you can change them in the Launcher..

I did download the "Off the Road" Truck Simulator: This is an Free to Play Driving and Flying Game where you have lots of stuff ^^ Works as expectet as its also got an Switch Port..

What i did discover : The FM Radio works whitouth an Cable Plugged in, but the Musik cant get listen over Bluetooth Headphones..

Had lots of stuff running yesterday, lots of quite demanding Emulators, and the Handheld seems to have a quite awesome Battery Runtime...

Since last time i did play a lot, did even install whit Dayjisho an Alternative Retro Launcher as this Anbernic Launcher is not that great, you cant even get more systems to run with it, so no Atari VCS, no Atari Jaguar, or other Opscure stuff ..

Not every Game runs on the more demanding Emulators, however i got PPSSPP to run Motorstorm lot better than on my first Test, and i was surprised that the Gamecube Emulator runs Serious Sam, the Next Encounter, at least on the first level... but Mario Kart got some weird Texture Issues on Dolphin..

On the 3DS Emulator i was surprised how good stuff like Mario Tennis and Zelda Hyrule Warriors runs, the 3DS Emulator runs not everything, but good enough that i did play now 25 Hours of Fantasy Life in my Vacations ..
Also startet a few other games serious: GTA Libertiy City Stories and Chilli Con Carnage on the PSP Emulator
I also made an Video a few weeks ago, i hope Youtube did allready generate English Suptitles ..

I have every Anbernic device ever released and theres a few, If you want to know anything just let me know these were all review devices all sitting in the shelf now.

Well, I don't think I'd buy any, but I'm curious about the battery life of the RG552. I like the rk3399, but I'd likely only use it to listen to music, watch videos or browse the web. It's cheaper than a Pinephone Pro, and I may live without the modem. I'd like some GNSS but one can't have it all. Btw does anyone know a free software friendly GPS system with long battery life? (maybe with e-ink or e-paper or some frugal screen? I won't run fast)

"The system has about 4 hours of battery life."
"Damian McFerran of Nintendo Life praised its screen as 'superb' but called the battery life low."

Compared to the GPD Win Mini, the Battery Live of these Anbernics is awesome: Even for Gameboy i had on the Win Mini only a few Hours where the RG35SP was at 50 % after 4 Hours ^^... , the RG Cube should have a bit less as its a full Android and lots more power, but its also quite good ..

So for everything Emulation Related, i think i will use the Cube now, expect for the Stuff that dosnt run that good ....

What i did discover is that the Audio Quality over Airpods is a bit poorer than between Airpods and Iphone , and the Touchscreen is a bit tricky to click on the Edges: to be able to play more than watch youtube on the "Salle de Bain" , i take the RG Cube with me, but most time i watch Youtube on it... i know this is quite strange as my IIPhone got 6,2 inch instead of the 4 inch, but its holds quite Confortable...

Lets hope the next Months will give me the oportunity to test the Cube outside..

What do you guys think of SteamOS?

If there were a 5" SteamOS powered device wouldn't that be the ultimate pocketable?

Well, its depends on its design: bevor the RG35SP, i had a few weeks my New2DSXL as an Pocket Handheld, it was quite pleasent to Pocketcarry.. so an SteamOS Powered Handheld would had this Size, so Clamshell and Double Screen, otherwise everything that you get on this Pocket would Destroy your Screen..

I had some years ago 2 Revo GBA Handhelds destroyed this way, .. i dont know way i did pocket carry them back then at all? I had an Pandora which was also an GBA playing Handheld..

On SteamOS itself: The Steamdeck was my first Handheld that was powerfull enough to Emulate PS2, SteamOS itself is build on ArchLinux but got some edits from Valve to make it less "Linux" .. most of the TIme you have the Steam Menue which is the same as on an PC the Steam Big Picture Mode, but if you need you can go to the Arch Linux Desctop ..
The good thing on SteamOS is that lots of your WIndows Steamgames and Games from other Sources run whit it, so you have lots of PC Games on your Handheld, but you have the same issues like whit other PC Gaming Running Handhelds: The Games might run on an Handheld, and you can play them on the go (as far as the Batterie lasts) but they are not made for get playing in Sunshine...

This Summer i got the experience that stuff like Skyrim plays well on the Steamdeck or the Win Mini outside, as long as you dont enter an Dungeon, while the Emulator Stuff is quite visible outside, even the Stuff from the Konsoles ..

Also one nice Feature on this Thing is that its an Android Tablett, so like i did wrote some weeks ago also usefull for other stuff: i did setup now about 30 gb of Downloadet Youtube Musik on it: Lets say my Hip Damage some time in the future would make it Necessarry for me to get in Medical Threadment, i dont know if i where allowed in the Hospital to let the 5G of my Phone run the whole time, some Room Mates might have an "Esoteric" Background, so i dont want them to be mad on me , who knows what these strange Peaple are able to do..

So its works also as an Offline Enterntainment Device: The Emulators are working withouth Internet and whit an Cable Based Headphone, there is no need for Bluetooth ^^

So even though Anbernic seems to release an new Device every 2 Months (tm), i think i will now stay whit the Anbernic Cube, and the Switch2 this year..
