Advice And Help Needed On Pandora

Reminds me of the old HP Jornadas. If it isn't copyrighted, I would support it, too :)

the trouble with "handheld" is it refers to a whole slew of MS powered devices running CE, and some people think of PalmOS devices as handheld PC's too, I think the Pandora is a huge enough step forward that it should have a nomenclature/class all of it's own, it deserves it, after all, there IS nothing else like it ATM (since Psion went west) apart from some incredibly expensive pocketable laptops sold as Flagship devices by some of the big manufacturers, and at that, none of these have the Dpad/joypads, this (Pandora) could be as market changing as the eeePC.

"Palmtop"? I have an old HP 320LX, it's a nice little machine, and they are labeled 'Palmtop PC' - http://www.palmtoppaper.com/ptphtml/33/greysid2.gif

In this article they call it Mini-PC:

ED must have explained it like this to them, so Handheld PC(if not copyrighted/trademarked) would be even better, imo.

Or "Handheld computer", if you associate "PC" with x86. But for me "PC" implies something powerful...
But perhaps it's not specific enough, as all computing devices with this size are called handhelds. At least the term's correct...

I find this interesting. The term "PC" to me means only what it's short for: Personal Computer.

The Pandora will certainly fit that definition, eh?

Ah yea I think Palmtop would suit perfectly. It would also probably generate interest from a lot of the old Psion crowd.

PID = Portable Internet Device.

Sounds pretty fitting to me.

Or more to the point, We could call it STUPID = Super Talented Universal Portable Internet Device.

Just a thought.

Trooper

Say Pepsi. Say it several times.

Say Palm Pilot, say it several times

Say PSP, say it several times.

Say Pee Pee.

Say Poo Poo

You may become aware that the PP is pleasant to pronounce and hear. Just one P sound is also pleasant. Porn and Pron are not as pleasing as two Ps in close succesion. Still even a single P is pleasant, as in the word pleasant.

I would recommend a name that has the PP sound

Say Open Pandora, repeat. Very nice isn’t it?

Alternatives are few.

Pandora App Pack

Open Apps Pack

Pandora APP Pamphlet

It's all true and evidence based, and complimentary with a single P.

Ultra Super Talented Universal Portable Internet Device :D

Another generic idea: Pocket Companion (PC), Pandora Pocket Companion (Pandora PC)/(PPC)
Reminds me of Asus' "Mypal" PocketPC.
Pocket companion seems to be related to books, but just 159.000 google search results is not that much.

I think that "PC" is ok. Sometimes it's actually advantageous if the label is slightly misleading.

Pocket companion, yes yes a very nice name, one I'm certain has been barrowed over and over. I would suggest though that anything called a pocket companion is likely inexpensive. The classic is a pocket with the bottom cut out, again indicating a cheap toy. However, pocket companions can be very useful, a sort of survival tool. What about the hack factor as a selling point?.

Pandora Leet, substituting leet for lite as people are also drawn to things that are familiar to them.

The big advantage of "Pandora Pocket Companion" is, that you can short it to "Pandora PC", which makes it more dense, because you have that allusion to ordinary PCs. It's a bit misleading, indicates powerfulness, but at the same time means something else.
(Disclaimer: It's hard to explain something thoroughly in your second language)

Indeed regarding languages. Regarding PC, it is catchy with the duel meanings. Although I don't know that potential Pandora buyers would perk to PC, I know I'm getting mine to parctice Linux on as well as play games and look as if im doing something important in class. PC in the US also means politically correct, which may be inviting to some. Try this though Pandora LX. LX has a feel of luxury and the letters can be found in Linux.

You can discuss/argue all day long but at the end of the day it's just another handheld emulation/gaming system. New users won't take it seriously as a PC as there are better choices out there. Just call it the PES (Pocket Emulation System) or even Pam (Pocket Amiga)

You mastered double meanings. Mind if I put it in my sig? (maybe censoring that word, would be silly to get in trouble for that.)
