Adic 2003 entries released.

just played Magical Quest and its kinda cool. Like how you can just hold down A to fire instead of mashing up my A button even more.
Gonna give "LOL fighters" a go now. :)

played hexafire... really plays well but a little disappointed that i seem to have completed it on first go ?

magical quest - beautiful main sprite - had a quick go, got up to level 1.3 and then pressed start which exits your game, doh me

formula 1 - seems to run well but needs a bit more work ?

a few here from previous contests.....

i dunno really.. am i being fussy ? just dont seem to be too amazed....

lol and bloody rescue next

also played magical quest and hexafire first...
Magical quest looks good, but i expected more 'game', i.e. was kinda boring ~.~
Hexafire is more fun, but as said before, it's a lil' bit easy :)

Bloody Rescue was a bit confusing, maybe I shoulda have played it longer,
same to GpFinalWar, which seems to have a great engine, but, hmm...

I tried out a good majority of them. Here's my take:

Bloody Rescue - Very promising, but moves a little too fast, which makes things confusing and ends the game quickly. I also think, personally, that the camera should be panned up some, so you can see more of the playfield.

N-Tris - Freaking fantastic. I loved everything about it. Ah! My Goddess is no longer the best Tetris clone for GP32. The graphics, sound, difficulty, and controls were all excellent. The only thing I would add would be some more music, but that's a small quibble.

LOL Fighters - Looks like it could actually be a fun game. Needs some definite AI tweaking, though, if single player is going to be worth playing at all.

GP FinalWar - Awesome. Nice demo to show off the engine. This game is going to nice once it's done.

Hexafire - Honestly, I thought this beat the hell out of Magic Quest. It doesn't have the graphics of MQ, but it sure as hell is more fun to play. There are power-ups, enemies that actually aim at you, and patterns and waves. The only thing I think it needs is a graphical overhaul. It's a bit muddy and ugly (in my opinion).

Puzzle Mix - I liked this one a lot, too. Five well-playing puzzle games (one that is exactly like Bejeweled). Nice sound, menus, graphics, etc..but it -really- needs some music. After that, I'd say it's gold.

Bichos - I like the idea behind this game, and it controls well. I think it could use a little more animation, and the sound effects are a bit hard on the ears. Some aesthetic tweaks and this would be an enjoyable game.

JBB's ..uh..something OID - I love it. The last version of this game was good, but had off ball/paddle physics, but this one is right on. It has a ton of nice touches such as bricks falling off the screen once they've been hit, and it's really insane to see multiple balls and bricks falling all over the place. One thing I would change, though, would be the speed of the paddle. Instead of it being fast all the time, you should be able to hold down a button when you want it to speed up.

Animings - I think this is by the same guy that did Puzzle Mix. It's a lot of fun, don't let the screenshot fool you. It's a great take on Lemmings, where you have to guide red and blue ants to their holes by guiding them with their own colored apples. Good stuff.

Entropy - Eh. This is a decent start for an adventure game engine, but other than that, it was pretty blah, in my opinion.

Magical Quest - It's got nice graphics and sound, but it lacks so much gameplay. I got sick of shooting the same enemy after 5 minutes. The enemies don't come out in any sort of patterns, and they shoot randomly about the screen. The main sprite is nice, but is far too big and succeptable to taking shots.

GP32 Car - Something like this should be turned into a sort of Super Sprint game. It's asking for it, but simply moving a car up and down to dodge obstacles is too boring.

That's all I got to try. My favorite is definitely N-Tris, but I kept N-Tris, JBB's ..Noid, Puzzle Mix, and Animings, as they're all great. Make sure to give these four a shot. :D

I tried Puzzle Mix and I can't stop playing it. just copied it to the wifes SMC too.

Cracking set of games :D

Bloody run wouldve been cool if it was 3rd person view or was it 1st person view, the one like cs would be cool. Or it gives you option would b cooler, yeah the moving and turning is way too fast.

It seams like GP Games has a major rival in Puzzle Mix.

Puzzle mix was my clear favourite out of the 6 games i downloaded. It offered some very very good puzzle games, taken from other formulas.

I have also been enjoying the allway/breakout clone its fast, fun, looks good and has some great levels and power ups.

LOL Fighters was also quite fun, bright colours, smooth gameplay and graphics i enjoyed the little time i had on it. With some tweaking to the AI and the moves, that would be a great game.

My major disapointment was Magic Quest, graphicaly its great however you can just hold down the fire button and take out all the enemies (Yawn) wheres the power ups and different enemies?

Oh, man! I hate Puzzle Mix so much... I've just lost two hours worth of sleep to the swine! :D Excellent stuff! Swap It is just like a puzzle game they've got on a quiz machine in the pub! I can practice like crazy and fill the high score chart with my name now!

Erm, something needs to be done about the instructions for "Shift" though... The word "Shift" is missing the F... :D

May get round to trying the other tomorrow (I hope a few of them are as good as Puzzle Mix).

I can only agree with the previous posters who said Puzzle Mix was the best. Great execution, really professional looking with menus etc. A solid game! And I don't think it needs music while playing, it always tends tp gets annoying after a while in most games.

Hell yeah, Puzzle Mix IS Great, it just replaced my GPJewel. N-Tris ia good, too, but the Block Sequence is always the same. For me it all starts with a yellow bar, then there comes a grey L-Block. right after that ill get a small (1x1) Black and after that, a T-Block is dropping. does that happen to you, too?

I just played N-tris once, so I can't comment on whether the sequence is the same everytime or not. But IF it is, it's probably because the author forgot to seed the random generator.

anyone fancy making a poll to see which the people like the most? id do it but i dont have a gamepark at the mo and so dont know what some of the entries are called as it doesnt say on the main web page B).

Yeah, I think there are two block sequences in N-Tris. Doesn't really bother me, though, as I stop noticing after the 3'rd block or so. The only problem I have noted is that the difficulty IS a bit steep. Around the 8'th level or so, things really start to get too fast and unmanageable. Last night, I played N-Tris and got to level 9, then went to play Tetris DX and got to level 19, so I know I don't, suck, lol.
