Some days ago i ordered a GP32 BLU and i need to know if my 9V 400ma negative AC adapter has the right plug size to fit the GP32.
I think its a 5 mm plug.

I assume the adaptor hat a voltage switch?

Switch it to 3V, be sure to use the correct polarity dough.
Also: use a "regulated" adapter, cuz unregulated ones can make the screen flicker.

I believe Nebulous got volts and amps confused. You can have any amperage as long as it is above 300ma (is it 300ma or 250ma? I forgot now...), and the GP32 will just draw what power it needs. Voltage is a potentional, amperage represents the strength of the actual current I believe. I failed Physics 122, re-taking again this year so my Electromagnetics is a little sketchy

i know this isnt a reply to the question but its a question in the same vein so i thought i'd ask. im fed up with buying batteries and found a shop selling a multi voltage power pack for £1.99. but although it has a 3v option i dont think the adaptor is 300ma, i think its 500ma. will this make a difference? cheers.

No, Not in the slightest.
I have a 800ma adapter with a 3v option that i use for my GP32.
The GP32 will only draw what amps it needs and no more, As long as the adapter can supply what the GP32 needs. ie 300ma.

i bought the bargain multi voltage ac adaptor, as i got it out when i arrived home i discovered none of the jacks fitted! so i have no batteries till tommorow and to make things worse i just discovered opensnes. briiliant emulator if you have power for you gp32.

AAAAAH! ok so today i went and brought a new ac adaptor with the jack that i needed(and some batteries just incase), got home, tried it and it worked BUT!............ you know when the batteries are about to go and you get strips of blank screen rolling sideways? well its like that but no blank screen. its hard to describe, but i get the feeling its either slightly too much or too less power. its a 3v adaptor at 300ma and i have the polarity te right way. anyone else have this problem? cheers

No I got this you hve to maaker sure that you get a REGULATED dc adptor and unregulated one has very slightly varying currnet tht produces those lines.

thanks sebastian, you are totally right. its unregulated, and to be honest i had no idea there were reg and unreg. if i use it am i at risk of damaging my gp32? things like that on the screen annoy me so i'll probably only use it in time of battery shortage anyway, i appreciate the help, cheers.
