Please don`t abandon the GP32,now that the GP2x has arrived. The gp32_console still has alot of potential.

I mean a "plea to devs"

Just face it most of what could be done on the GP32 has been done already.

Not really. NES, SMS, GB, GBC, Lynx, Atari 800, C64, PC-engine could all be done with FS0 full speed with sound. They are very good now but not perfect. They could be perfect on the GP32. There are many ports that could also be done perfectly that aren't. Doom for example needed work on the saves and gamma, stuff like that. There are still many things that could still be done. The GP32 has a better joystick and battery life too so I could still see using it.

Whatever though. Devs will do what they want to and for the system they want. We will just need to go along with it.

Yeah, I just replaced my broken one instead of upgrading because the battery life is better and everything.

The GP2X is probably going to be the best fullspeed emulation machine, but probably not for another few months.

I will not abandon the GP32.

Also, the first programs to come out on the GP2X won't use the 2nd processor, or the GFX coprocessor, or HH, but rather just SDL and Linux.

People (like me) will be able to port them to GP32 and expect them to run at or near fullspeed.

If it is really important to you, you would be doing something about it yourself. If you want to keep the gp32 alive, then do it, start coding.

First off, no... the gp32 has alot of potential left in it.
Second, i believe that if the gp32 dev scene is going to stay alive, it is going to be on original games and material. The emulators are good and all, but there is a limit there. In my opinion, original games are what both the gp2x and the gp32 need, hopefully we can do something about that.

I think it is good enough already.

There will still be new stuff in time but everything eventually gives way to the next generation. At some point you'll have to accept it's not going to be developed for as it used to be.

I only just bought my GP32 off of Ebay and I plan to buy a GP2X in the beginning of the new year. If you're wondering where I'm getting the money. Christmas Carroling and Christmas Cards :D I'm not old enough to get a job :(

So I don't mind what happens. But it'd be nice if the GP32 still got some new stuff ...

TBH Even if the GP32 was suddenly to get no more software at all I wouldn't worry too much.

There is still so much I haven't tried on my GP32 and I've had one for almost 2 years. The only thing I would consider getting a GP2X for over a GP32 is the potential for better video and that has issues at the moment.

I will probably buy a GP2X when it's scene matures in a few months time but at the moment my GP32 does more than enough and I certainly won't be selling it even when I get a GP2X. I'm too attached to it. It's the only device I've ever had other than my Amigas and my palm OS PDAs that has kind of become part of my every day life if you know what I mean. :)

OK I use a PC every day but it's just a lump of metal. It has no heart :)
