Well, iirc, you can buy non-multi region second hand Saturns here for £25, and that was 5 years ago. So you can probably get multi-region ones for that now...
Great games for it would be, errrm, lets see...
- Panzer Dragoon 1/2: 3D shoot 'em up that's kind of fun, though I was never all that good at it
- Panzer Dragoon Saga: If you get a Saturn, obtain a copy of this by any means necessary, especially if you like RPGs. This game is worth becoming an assassin for and killing off people until you become the sole benefactor of some distant relative's fortune, and can then actually afford it.
- Albert Oddyssey: Can't remember WHICH Albert Oddyssey was released for the Saturn, but it was great fun; like a SNES RPG basically, but with very very nice music and lovely cut scenes. Translated ans released by Working Designs.
- Magic Knights of Rayearth: Another Working Designs translation, the game is often slated for being too short. So when I saw it for £50, I didn't buy it; but if you like RPGs, go for it.
- Sonic R: A nice true 3D version of sonic that feels like a precursor to Sonic Adventure. Plays funly, especially in multiplayer, though I don't remember it as being as fast as I'd have liked. This is also available for the PC these days, but looked better on the Saturn (all the Sega conversions got left at 320x240 or whatever it was, and without the TV's natural bluring effect, that just looks kinda kakky).
- Guardian Heroes: Second only to Panzer Dragoon Saga, this is one of about 2 Saturn games I've got left. Personally, I'd call it the best 2D fighter ever - you get 3 layers you can fight on (which adds a LOT to strategy; you need to be on the right layer at the right time etc.), a *ton* of endings, lots of magic in addition to a lot of normal fighting moves, and RPG-esque levelling up. And not as expensive as PDS either
- Shing Force 3(a/B): There are 2 Shining Force 3s for Saturn, and one of them I haven't played. The other is great; think shining force 2 in, well, 3D. Lovely music, and loooong gameplay with a pretty good story to boot.
- Shining Wisdom: The graphics aren't what you'd call brilliant, but the gameplay is pretty good. A fairly immersive first person RPG (with Phantasy Star style battles). Give it a chance and its great fun.
- That Sonic Compilation: Can't remember what its called, but its got Sonic 1/2/3/knuckles plus a lot of scanned fan matterial and trailers and such on a single disk.
- Gekka Mugentan Toriko: An interactive movie more than a game. If you like things that *are* slow and rely on a fairly fixed (but very immersive) stories, then this is a game to get. But you could conceivably find it boring...
- Enemy Zero: The most unforgiving FPS/Adventure I've ever played. Basically, you get stranded on a space station that's been taken over by "Enemies" - that is, invisible mosters that kill you in one hit and can only be recognised by the beeping of a radar that tells you how close (but not where) they are. Add to that that there's a charging time for *every* shot, and its darn hard, but very fun. Give a shot.
Sorry I haven't mentioned more actioney games, but its mainly because I never got into them; if you go for a Saturn and like RPGier ones, though, this is a fairly good list
