Dave is eavesdropping!
32MB mod would open a lot of doors in the world of GP32 software: Mashmods could make this possible, but we must show our interest in it.
It is false that 32MB mod is totally unsupported (Dave, are you listening?), read this from Cobbleware

"03-Nov-03
Mr. Spiv has enhanced the 32MB bios, adding MMU setup to make it super-easy to use the extra memory! I've updated the 32MB RAM Upgrade section with the new details"

Voila'!

The details are here

http://cobbleware.com/gp32/gp32ram.html

From Cobbleware
"My conclusions from the exercise are:
the 32MB works perfectly.
..."

I hope the guy(s) at Mashmods will add this mod to their mods list.

P.S.: ah, sorry, thank you frolik!

Yeah but..., as I said before... what happens if you write a program which goes malloc(24*1024*1024); on a 32Mb GP32? :)

You don't want to have specific hacks, after all what happens if in 6 months there is a GP32 with 64Mb. Then 128Mb. Then 256Mb

Maybe there is a way to support extra ram sizes using just plain malloc, so that

malloc(4*1024*1024); returns valid memory on everything

malloc(30*1024*1024); returns valid memory on 32Mb, and NULL on 8Mb

malloc(60*1024*1024); returns valid memory on 64Mb, and NULL on 8Mb and 32Mb

etc etc you get the idea

Cool! By the way Mr. Spiv, you are a god. That should have gone in the GigaDrive readme. Under 'Gods':Mr Spiv

So far I've installed you BIOS flasher .FXE, which was brilliant...
And used your FXE compressor, which was brilliant...

There is a pattern of brilliance here... :)

Can't wait for the memory stuff! It might well be needed if someone does CPS2 or Neo Geo!!

IDEA: maybe we should have a "certified gp32 GOD" thingy...

Yeh... Robster the hardware maniac has 64M modded GP32. <_< This will be handled as well.

To get into IRC.. First get an IRC Client, then connect to Efnet servers and join #gp32dev.. for example.
