Man is a reasoning rather than a reasonable animal
I purchased a 2GB SD card off of ebay (HERE) and it just arrived and I can't do anything with it. First of all, although the title said it was "Brand New", it came with no factory sealing (just the card in a small plastic case) and appeared to have been handled (scratches, fingerprints). I put it in my card reader (a SanDisk ImageMate 5 in 1 Reader, SDDR-99) and open it up in windows..... except it isn't formatted. Windows asks me if I would like to format it, and I say yes, as there is no other option and I was planning on doing this anyways just to be safe. I select FAT32 and then start the format. The progress bar reaches the end, it stops for awhile, and then it comes up with a message, "Windows was unable to complete the format". And that's it. It doesn't tell me what the problem is, so I have no way of knowing what is wrong. What should I do? Is it a faulty card, windows, or my card reader? I have tried multiple times and even different formats and it has done the same thing every time.
