I've seen some peaple saying that they are not 100% happy, but to me it rocks. After the upgrade from 1.4 2.0 makes the console feel like a new machine! Boot is so fast!

USB drive thingy worked first time on my PC. And the USB net work is amazing! I'm been boaring all my mates about the gp2x. Man it IS the best thing since sliced bread.

I'm very happy.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I think fw2.0.0 not rocks, but the gp2x should have had all this on the release date. This should be standard for a $189 device!

NoidZ, in case you don't know....
It's GPH's GP2X, it was buggy at release, it isn't perfect now, but it will be, and that's what matters, right?

It wasn't there when you bought it, but now it is...and you can download it for free. So for all that grief you got, all I can say is...wow that sucks, because I got mine for 169...

Beta's suck, unless they don't...

Yes, but the GP2X really had majoy problems on the start, and I think that's no good. Why didn't they fix some problems first. GPH knew it had much errors and should have waited with the GP2X release. But that's what I think :)

GP2x wasnt released yet, official release is sheduled for mai (afaik), evrything we have now is beta and you see how it goes towards a final/stable release.

Didn't know that

well upgrading from FW 1.21 to v2 is a HUGE step up! it improves in so many ways its not funny, i would say i am perfectly content with 2.0 untill there is another massive improvement

Yes I also upgraded from FW 1.21 to v2 and everything I wanted to be fixed is. It's still not perfect, but damn it's way better! I am very very happy with this FW release. Plus it's not like my psp...I get to keep my homebrew when I upgrade =D

I really do like 2.0, but it seems to break some apps that worked in 1.4 - GNUboy and DRMDx being the most important for me.

2.0 is very nice and easy to upgrade to, took me like 5 minutes and went flawlessly. This should have been how the gp2x originally shipped.

I'm happy with 2.0 they fixed one of the biggest problems which was the boot time. I just hope they can get the LCD screen working 100%, the adjuster is nice but still not perfect. Also I'd like it if they switched the sound off on the GP2X when its playing on the tv out. The gp2x will be perfect for me then.

I reckon 2.0 is pretty good, I've been waiting for networking and the autorun feature means it's a lot easier to use alternative menus.

I only have one criticism, the little tune on start up. Sometimes you want to turn your GP2X on without everyone knowing ;)

Sounds good, I wish I could try it out, but my card doesn't seem to work (curse the wiki for lying to me...)

yes but in return you get much better volume control (at least it seems that way to me...)

According to Craig, GPH could not afford to do another production run to fix things, since the preorder money paid for the first batch. All that existed before that were prototypes.

There are problems with the 2X that go even beyond a buggy FW that will never really be erased but it's getting to be the best it can be. For those complaining about the apps broken by 2.0 remember they can be fixed to work better and those problems will go away. If these are the only problems to ever com out of 2.0 then it's hardly anything to be dissapointed with.
