Is there really a light at the end of the journey...?

I read somewhere that the Pyra is going to be dry like every other device on the market. What will distinguish it from the hundreds of other phones? You need to cancel production and make it WET. Maybe you can do this by including a moisturizer dispenser in the case, or maybe just some paint...

Is there really a light at the end of the journey...?

I think the pandora was a good size. If it had been any smaller, it would've been hard for me to hold it comfortably with two hands, especially if I wanted to use the shoulder buttons; had it been much bigger, it wouldn't have been so convenient to carry around.

Time for a new flavour of linux

Nope; I mean *everything*. Major gcc versions sometimes introduce ABI-breaking changes, so libraries compiled with the new version are no longer compatible with binaries built with the old one. Most distros include such upgrades as part of their yearly release cycle, when everything gets...

Time for a new flavour of linux

Gentoo can build binary packages, too; you can compile on a fast machine and then install the binaries elsewhere. There also are binary packages offered by the maintainers for some large things like libreoffice and firefox. It doesn't bother me that compiling takes a while. I usually don't...

Time for a new flavour of linux

I second this recommendation. I now use Funtoo for new installs, and have migrated my most-used Gentoo systems to it also. (I have even used Funtoo on my pandora since 2012; I built a VM to compile everything with qemu so I didn't have to do it on the pandora.) Man. I wish my pandora...

    LVDS connector on motherboard: P/N?

This part seems to have fewer pins than the one I removed from my pandora. I put it on anyway (so there's an empty solder pad on each side of the front (closest side to the LCD cable) of the connector. The jaw lever also closes toward the back of the connector, rather than over the cable; this...

    LVDS connector on motherboard: P/N?

Hi. My pandora's LVDS jaw connector on the motherboard is broken. I want to try to replace it if I can't find another pandora. It looks less difficult than I initially thought. Does anyone know the part number?

    WTB: 1GHz Pandora $300

Hi! My pandora is finally beyond my ability to repair. I've used it daily as a general-purpose Linux machine since receiving it in 2012; have myself replaced the LCD cable 5 times, replaced both nubs, repaired the shoulder button switches, and gone through three full cases. Now the jaw...

I will buy your pandora and accessories for $350. I am in the US. My pandora (#5 craigix 1GHz) has been my daily-use general-purpose handheld computer since 2012. It now has a broken lcd connector on the mainboard that I am unable to repair. Yours seems perfect. There are no pandora...
