    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Assuming that new CPU board will be prepared much faster than the whole project, the 2G option don't seem to sound so bad. But seeing current progress on the issue makes me optimistic about it. On the progress side, are the cases ready yet?

Will Pyra memory be susceptible to Rowhammer?

Some time ago there have emerged a new class of attacks, targetting hardware limitations. One of such attacks is aimed at memory controller. You can read more about rowhammer here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Row_hammer Recently there was devised a new attack targetted at mobile devices...

    Bugs and Calculations

And now without 3 options: no-GSM, 4G-EU, 4G-US, there is another one: a 3G. So I'm afraid that now the amount of preorders needed to break even has increased a bit. 3G is enough for me, so I'll be glad to be able to pay less for what suits my needs.

    That would be awsome

    ... we're still alive!

Well, I have seen a linux distro with LXDE, Firefox, Office suite run from < 40MB ISO (www.slitaz.org). But with Debian it will need a few GB just for some basic system. My intuition tells me that with: eMCC <= 8GB I'll use one SD card slot as unremovable storage (eMCC == 16GB || eMCC == 32...

    A Spectrum of Pyra Renders

I acknowledge that some colors are looking nice (like "post apocalyptic rust" or "safety orange"), but considering occasions at which I'd be using Pyra  I'd more likely select some more casual color scheme ("sparkly charcoal" is a good example)

The one which got my attention is: post apocalyptic rust pyra - erico

Camera Questions - For the people that want a camera.

A counter example for above argument are slide out phones. Some of them have managed to put a selfie camera on a the same side as the screen. So it needs to be less than a half of a smartphone thickness. For both: Motorola Droid 4 and Nokia N900 it seems to be less than 5mm (possibly in 4mm...

No prototypes for GamesCom, but a Wifi Chip and a Pyra in the dark!

I'm just curious - does this 5GHz extension to wifi chip adds also support for 802.11ac ? If yes, then the price might be justified. I was also hoping that 3/4 G won't as expensive. I was expecting 30 - 50 €.

    It's the keyboard layout.

I have a question: how to produce keys like: [ ] ` ' = ; Pressing Fn + shift produces caps lock Pressing Fn + meta produces compose Should a combo consist of caps lock and a letter?

    It's the keyboard layout.

So is there anyone who knows what is the wiring of the keyboard matrix? Can someone at least provide info about keys which have their own wiring (I'd expect that gaming keys belong to this group, any other keys)?

    It's the keyboard layout.

    It's the keyboard layout.

Looking at the forum, I haven't found the layout which would meet all of my needs (a Polish layout), so I guess I'd have to mod the layout myself (I've already used to it with my N900 and Droid4). So at the moment I'm looking after a layout with a minimum inconvenience for me (I've always...

Updates in all areas, spiced with case renders

So maybe instead of KickStarter, ED should make his own auction system. It would allow buyers to bid any amount of money (providing information about what is a minimum allowed bid) within some time frame to buy a Pyra. Users would be allowed to increase their bids within the time frame. The...

An unlock screen idea for the Pyra

I have to say that I like the idea of "combo unlock". Actually I think that this kind of unlocking mechanism may be used also in regular PCs. There are over 50 key which may be used to enter a key combination. I guess it is safe to assume that a keyboard will recognize 4 keys pressed at once...

    Pyra Hardware specifications

I have searched for "wifi" not "wi-fi" so I found only the summary at the bottom of the page (I should have looked for 802.11). 802.11n can be used in 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency bands. Is there some way to find out if 5GHz will be supported?

    Pyra Hardware specifications

Since this thread deals with Pyra specs, does anyone know which WiFi standards will be supported (802.11n or 802.11ac) ?

    Pyra Internet Deal

my country (Poland) is not on the list, but I voted "no", since I can have 3GB internet for less than 5 euro on a prepaid and possibly (not tried yet) 1GB for as low as 2 euro.

Finished! (Well... the schematics, that is)

Just out of curiosity, was Sharp display vertical or horizontal. It was stated that it probably is vertical, but it was not confirmed and there was mentioned that there is expected some support from Sharp.

    New approach to Pyra Phone

The ink case with speaker and mic would be almost perfect. It would be nice if it would have a camera (so I could use Pyra + inkcase instead of a smartphone).
