High level doesn't exactly mean that commercial games can't be made with it. This is espcially true with 2D games where art and a well made game is the only real requirements even for top titles. And remember that a game is commercial even if the price is $1. In the end it really depends on if...
I was wondering about the possibilities of using Fenix for commercial games. I couldn't find any information about this. I have no idea how stable it is, esp for GP2X, so it may not even be interesting for freeware games.
Host on the EXT? Where did you find that info and does it work on the first batch?
BTW, internet access through USB linked to a PC is better then no internet and cheaper then the BT expansion. Internet can be used for things like highscore lists, downloads and multiplay.
File transfer over BT isn't really an option when you got USB or a card reader. BT is probably best used for multiplay and internet. There's also a bunch of BT equipment out there that could be fun.
BTW, anyone tried to get internet working through the USB yet?
Bluetooth is nice and it's nice to be able to connect more devices but damn that's one bulky device. Would be very nice with an internal device. Maybe in the future you can sell pre-modded units?
So, what's the transfer speed for BT?
I say it would be sweet, it's like the only thing missing. It would mean access to any powered USB device like MP3 players and perhaps the easiest way to link multiple units together?
There could even be a TV out cable with a female USB so you can have multiplayer on a TV.
So, how much easier would pygame be compared to SDL? I don't have time to check up on Pygame right now so if someone could just give me some simple descriptions to help me understand the basics of the language I'd be happy. Or a link to a single page with this info. Not a lot of info, just the...
I think it's best to do what Lik Sang says. Wait for the official release in 2006 and the 2nd eddition. If you buy it not there will be a few minor hardware problems while I'm quite positive all of them will be fixed for the official release. There's barely anything released at this time and...
Um, I thought SF2 on SNES was great because the shoulder buttons works for heavy attacks, I don't like controllers that doesn't use the sytandard 4x 90 degree spaced thumb buttons. With a regular PS controller the top 2 shoulders could be used for volume control since volume buttons will be used...
GPH have stated SDIO support on their site but someone has to make the drivers. And they have also said that they will release the source later so stop posting speculations.
Don't mind Ravnos, he is talking about something completly different. Right now we are all interested to see what you have to offer, just focus on that.
There's plenty of news abou the SDK if you actually look around. Thing is that 1) they are busy shipping units and 2) they want to fix some bugs first.
