Pandora In The Gp2x Form Factor

The N64 comes to mind. The were games that used the D-pad, & games that used the analog stick, but not at the same time. Since both were used at different times, however, the N64 had to include both. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you still run into problems using an "on-screen"...

    Sliding Keyboard?

It still seems like patenting the idea of, say, doors on cars. I wanted a sliding keyboard; & not putting it in, to keep costs down, was the right thing to do. So I guess I'm just venting.

Pandora In The Gp2x Form Factor

I always have to resist being "sarcastically-unhelpful", but here's my stab at a serious answer. No, on-screen keybords don't suck. I'm writing this on my iPhone right now, but they do limit screen "real estate" while you're using them. If the keyboard is to be included at all, it's for...

    Sliding Keyboard?

I'm not requesting it, (I know it's patented), but how does that work? Do you really have to pay someone if you have the alphabet resting on a mechanism that allows it to be hidden from view? God, that sure is vague! Does anyone else feel this way?

....Just trying to get my "One Pandora Per Child" project off the ground.

Too Late To Request For Ir?

You guys are crazy!! Turning off your TV with Pandora is awesome!! This leads right into my idea of a solar-powered back panel. You'd have to be on your back in the noon-day sun while playing, but it could extend the life of the battery by almost 30 minutes!!

Pandora's Emulators - What Will Work And What Won't

It looks like Pandora will, potentially, run everything from VGA's heyday. I don't think anyone should expect more than that. I mean, do we really need a portable version of "Bad Day on the Midway" or the glut of FMV titles that were forced on PC gamers after VGA?

Pandora's Emulators - What Will Work And What Won't

God, I don't know how I missed it, & I was really looking. Although, being on the list since the beginning confirms what I just said. DosBox is interesting. Seeing as how a PC is so very vague, what games that will support is really up in the air.

Pandora's Emulators - What Will Work And What Won't

Hey, did I miss the Atari Lynx? I know it's one of the worst systems ever made, but anyone who says they aren't compelled to play those games is lying. Come on, it's like the MST3k of consoles. Besides, if the CD-i was mentioned, I think any system is fair game now.

    Unity Game Engine

How hard would it be to port the unity game engine to pandora. It already supports opengl es & works on "Unix" based systems, but would one need permision. Could support be ported & one just needs the software to design games?

    The Software Side Of Pandora

This is really getting off track. I wanted to know about WINE, which was answered, & what was the strategy for comercial releases on Pandora. This is, apparently, nonexistent. It is, obviously, not intended to make a significant mark in the world of portables. Beyond any other reasoning...

    The Software Side Of Pandora

I don't know where people get that idea, either, that's the whole point. I know plenty of artists in the industry, (being one myself). The fact that the OS is open source makes people - read: old computer guys - think that there's some back door into the source code of their commodities. I...

    The Software Side Of Pandora

I guess I was under the impression the system was further along. I thought we could even order them as early as next month. Once everything is finalized, I hope a select number of people get the development libraries for launch titles. Homebrew is great, but I think Pandora has the potential...

    The Software Side Of Pandora

I think I should have said strategy side. Are there communications with software companies. Is there a plan in place for distribution? Will the community move to a new location to separate Pandora & localize the products? I know this doesn't come from GPH, but I thought it was designed to...

    The Software Side Of Pandora

Ports are all well & good, but they rarely show a systems full potential. Ideally, I would like to see Pandora only software. PS - thanks for clearing up WINE for me.

    Shoulder Buttons

I was wondering if they'd be too big, the only possibility I see would 2 DSlite buttons above the shoulder buttons. I understand that even this could make the system enormous - so that's out. I always thought the PSP removed shoulder buttons so as to NOT allow emulation of psx. That way, they...

    Shoulder Buttons

I don't want to sound nitpicky, but I keep reading about "out of the box" psx emulation; so shouldn't the system have four shoulder buttons?

    The Software Side Of Pandora

A lot of hardware is being discussed, but what about the software side of things? What's being done to promote Pandora as a stand-alone system? Are you working with developers, (commercial/homebrew), and providing dev kits? Are there game editors planned to speed development of indie games...
