Interesting. What if an e-mail receipt was sent after purchasing the CD or whatever that clearly stated a free Pandora was to sent at a later date? Then there would be some sort of written contract.
Well "if" Sony ever release a PSP with dual analog controls and possibly a low-level development kit for gaming enthusiast(I believe they did that for the PSX and ran a contest as well) that could steal away some thunder from Pandora. But that's a big "IF".
The question is how economically feasible would it be to manufacture only 500 Pandoras? Granted they will probably do a test run of a small amount first to ensure that the Pandoras are properly made but those will most likely go to developers. Unfortunately making small batches of Pandoras may...
My bet is for the Wiz to release first. The hardware is finalized and the software is being polished. Even if Pandora had all its parts ready for assembly it would still take 3 - 4 weeks before it could ship. Figure 4 - 7 days for all the parts to be shipped from various locations and arrive...
Are you sure Pandora will ship before the Wiz? The Wiz hardware is finished and now the final polish is being put in place. Pandora's hardware nore software is done. The Pandora team will also need additional time for testing after everything is complete. craigix has guarenteed not to release...
One of the grievous the GP2X community had with GPH was their lack of openess. Craig specifically set out to change that with Pandora collecting input and keeping everyone informed with progress updates. Now the GP2X community is angrier with the Pandora team than they ever were with GPH...
Wow! Gonna be some great deals to be had when Pandora reaches its release. Don't forget to include links please people. I just hope the Canadian dollar starts to rise by then.
Interesting. Does the email give a specific "must respond by" date? What's to prevent anyone from holding back their re-order for a month until they are satisfied with Pandora's current state of development or a higher dollar?
Lets hope craigix researched his new bank thoroughly before switching. If everyone has to go through another re-order it could be the really really ugly.
Hehehhee! Buy your Christmas gadgets this year and then re-submit your Pandora order at the beginning of next year. At worse they'll just refuse your order and you'll have to wait for the 2nd batch. Nothing to lose.
Ironically all those old 70's and 80's Arcade and computer games that everyone wants emulated were made by small teams, sometimes by just one individual, employed or bought from big companies. If those games were made today they would be considered homebrew.
Well the true goal of manufacturing all those Pandoras is to make money. Making them and hording them all to himself is a sure fire way to go out business. If extra Pandoras become available from cancelled orders he can always hold a draw or a must buy into the Developers Fund.
