    3D MMO on Pandora.

Absolutely! I completely agree with you! That's what I've ever dreamt about, a MMO with a smarter game system than the blasting old level/XP one. Blender! It would be a shame to use a proprietary tool to develop for an open handheld when free and as good counterparts exist! See what can be...

    The Pnd Package Manager

I understand your point, polyroy, and I stand corrected. However, I don't think that every pandora user will handle a hundred SD cards with it. For my part, I will use a single 8GB card for apps/games in the first slot, and a big capacity card for data (mostly audio/video), or even use the host...

    The Pnd Package Manager

Ok! Before entering this thread I was wondering what would be the use of the NAND. Seems so obvious now that I feel stupid.

Yes but, GTK is a heavy one. I do agree that compression enables to save much space, but you'd have to de-compress it each time you need it, and this is not time saving. What it we also need Qt? By the way, I didn't find the piece of information: where is installed the Angstrom on the Pandora?

    Pandora Cube

Yes, I do agree that these things already exist. But buy a media center+a console+other stuff and you're over the $200! There, we can use a single device for all that: versatility, as I said.

    The Pnd Package Manager

Well, I must admit I did not see the things this way. (Especially with the NAND stuff) Whatever, I will see when I get my Pandora. But I still wonder how this will work for simple apps (not games) which usually heavily rely on other libraries' packages on usual Linux distributions. Say (I said...

    Pandora Cube

The main asset of the Pandora is its versatility: Gaming device, audio player, handheld to access the Internet from Internet AND video player. I just don't see why the Pandora Cube wouldn't be able to do the same things. (Forget the 'Media Storage Server', in fact Pandora Cube is unsuited to this).

    The Pnd Package Manager

Are you familiar with a package manager such as pacman, rpm or apt-get? Because it sorts out all of these issues, it's its function. Ain't it some way to adapt some existing package manager? What about a main PND depository, which would contain the major libraries (libc, SDL for instance)? Or a...

    Pandora Cube

Of course, but since if I buy a Pandora Cube I'd want to use it mostly as a Media Center/Media Storage Server (I would also use it to play, of course), I need a high quality video output. That's the purpose of this thread, telling what we'd like the Pandora Cube to be fitted with. If it is to...

    The Pnd Package Manager

Easier? So when 2 programs need the same lib you install it twice? Although the Pandora has a much more limited space than a PC? That's to me the main purpose of a package manager, dude! It handles dependencies so that it may be easier for the user. I'm not critisizing your work, but I think...

    Pandora Cube

Yes, and I find it odd since the BeagleBoard, which has the same hardware, has nothing BUT a DVI outlet.

    The Pnd Package Manager

Just a question : Will you provide some kind of command line interface for your package manager? By the way, it's a nice work you did! We definitely need this! Does it already handles properly dependencies?

Sorry, I did search... quite quickly but I did.

    Pandora Cube

Yes :) , I do not believe it to be most useful. However, if it lacks an Ethernet interface then it's sure I'm not interested. There is no VGA ? What about DVI/HDMI, then ? (In the end I don't care about VGA)

    [Os] Package Manager

Hello ! I was just wondering if the Angstrom Linux running on the Pandora would feature a package manager - such as Debian's Apt-Get - (since Pandora is easy2connect to the Internet, I think it may be useful), and if yes, what is (or will be) the main depository address, so that I'd be able to...

    Pandora Cube

I would only be intersted if it provides lots of ways to connect to a screen : VGA, YUV (Component), DVI & HDMI. I mean, as well a TV-screen as a PC-screen. It may be a mind-blowing asset ! Also, I'd like at least 3 or 4 USB master ports, and at least one SD-card slot. And, YES ! An Ethernet...

List of PSX games you plan/hope to play

TALES OF DESTINY 2 !! (Called Tales Of Eternia in Japan) Spyro (the only good Spyro games are those of the PSX) Crash (same reason) Vagrant Story Chrono Cross (I never achieved to make it work properly with ePSXe) FF 6/7/8/9 and FF Tactics, maybe Btw, I don't find information concerning the...

    Pandora sales

Hello! According to the date, pre-orders are now closed ("The cut off for Pandora preorders is the end of the 5th of October worldwide (so that is just before Noon UK/Europe time on Monday)."), but when I go on http://openpandora.org/retro.html , I haven't got any message indicating me that I...
