Pandora Looking For A Few People To Get Prerelease Pandoras

I'd definitely be willing and able to start porting existing applications over. I've got 8 years professional development experience in the games industry, so I'd also start getting some of my existing work-in-progress games re-written.

Drawing With Inkscape On The Pandora

Sadly not. Wine isn't an emulator, it's a wrapper that lets x86 windows code run on a linux machine (basically it contains a reimplementation of the windows api) It doesn't provide a system to emulate an x86 CPU on an arm based platform. Even if it could, it's likely it wouldn't be very fast...

    Pandora Tablet Mod

Jack plugs/sockets could work, if you could find one with enough pins (anyone know how many lines you need to drive an LCD screen?) - it'd also make the screen easily removable

Pandora Sio2 Driven Development On Pandora?

I've posted a request directly on their forums, to see if they're interested in officially porting to Pandora: http://sio2interactive.forumotion.net/feat...rms-t44.htm#186

Sending Money To Pandora Team And Buying Memory Cards

Other posts in this forum have said that if you reply to the confirmation email you got when you preordered, you can add extra items (case, tv cable, sd cards, etc) to your order - they'll use the same billing details that you preordered with, and amend your order.

    Openoffice On Pandora.

As an example, here's a screengrab of Abiword running on Qemu (emulating an arm machine with an 800x480 screen) - it's set to 150dpi, which gives a readable display, but you can see it's not the most efficient use of screen space - the image has been resized to 50% to give a better indication of...

    Beagleboard And Pandora.

http://beagleboard.org/project Bear in mind the Beagleboard community seems to be a different sort of community to the Pandora / GP people - it mostly seems to be involved in porting low level stuff rather than creating games and porting emulators.

Release How will a 3D processor help emulation?

Huh? Obviously if someone was willing to port PS1 titles to the Pandora, that'd be great, but obviously it's not going to happen.

    Oh Dear, Scary Posts

Sadly, from experience, all forums will turn out that way, eventually. It seems to be human nature to assume that your problem is a new problem that nobody else has experienced (and also people are lazy. Why read a big web page when somebody else can do it for you *sigh*). As for the ubuntu...

    TVU Player?

It doesn't appear to be open source, but there is a Windows Mobile version, so they've already got it running on mobile devices. All you can do is email them directly, with info about the Pandora and ask if they'll port it. Under the hood, it seems to just be a WMV stream, so it's probably...

    hoping for a dev tutorial

It looks like as long as the relevant drivers exist, you just use it like a mouse. Result from googling "SDL touchscreen": http://www.nabble.com/Touch-Screen-Support-tt4504907.html#a4519344 Other searches suggest that proper touchscreen/tablet support is planned for SDL1.3, including pressure...

    hoping for a dev tutorial

The networking layer will just behave as networking would on any Linux machine. There's a networking component in SDL, so it shouldn't be a problem to use that. If not, look for TCP/IP tutorials. Touchscreens on other platforms appear to just show up as mouse clicks within SDL, so you can...

    hoping for a dev tutorial

This page has lots of SDL tutorials: http://www.libsdl.org/tutorials.php. A quick bit of browsing suggests that this one looks like a reasonable starting point: http://sol.gfxile.net/gp/ It's using SDL for all the graphics stuff, so should "just work" when recompiled for the Pandora...

    OpenVG on Pandora ?

Python is a pretty standard Linux package, so there won't be any problem running it. SDL will also be supported, for things such as PyGame.
