    Pandora Wi-Fi On 350kilobytes/s

It seems like maybe you don't know a lot about the community here... we've been waiting for about 18 months for this thing to ship, and they've had our money the whole time. We all REALLY like the device. With all the work that's gone into this, they won't disband. Especially not on a device...

    Pandora Wi-Fi On 350kilobytes/s

Why don't you just wait until WizardStan gets his unit & he can test it for you? It's not like you can get a first batch unit anyway, you're gonna be waiting a couple months either way. [edit] although I'm still not quite sure what exactly you expect us to do... or say?

    Anyway To Minimize Ghosting?

You know, I don't think I've seen an OLED yet that refreshed at faster than 60hz. I can see OLED refreshes, but I can't see LCD refreshes. So OLED screens look like shit to me. I don't really understand why they don't just refresh the screen faster since OLED's can switch so fast (the pixels...

    Worlds First Pandora Artwork

Thanks for the luck, I hope it turns out well. It's super-alpha right now (weird lags and no UI and such) but Someguy is brave enough to help me debug it, so hopefully it will be improved before I actually get a unit myself :)

    Pandora Wi-Fi On 350kilobytes/s

also, what do I personally have to do with the pandora software being polished? You realize I'm not one of the core dev's right? I'm just some random person on the forums giving you a hard time.

    Pandora Wi-Fi On 350kilobytes/s

maybe we can just convince cz to attach a wifi stick to his Pandora then? Since it seems like wifi speed is more important than battery life anyway.

    Pandora Wi-Fi On 350kilobytes/s

What's BS about me? I have a master's in computer science and I work for a software development company, and I write Pandora software for free... in fact a few guys on the forums are testing some of my software right now, as I don't even have a Pandora yet, so I can release it sooner. Not to...

wtf is cz talking about...? 7.6 mbit is muuuuuch faster than I expected it to be. My phone's probably like 200 kbit.

    Worlds First Pandora Artwork

hey someguy, I'm the author of a pandora painting program that's in beta (because I don't have a pandora :P ). Would you be interested in testing it, and possibly working with me to get the pressure sensitivity working on the pandora? It runs natively at 800x480, and its file format supports...

    Navigation For Pandora

Hmm, that doesn't take into account the elevations though, right? GPS elevation data seems nonexistant on many chipsets and on others it's often incorrect. Anyway, I'm working on a Pandora GPS navigation app, if you send me a PM with some info on the algorithm to calculate the calories I'd be...

Pandora As In In Car Entertainment System?

If I wanted to start with someone else's codebase I'd probably use navit. I doubt any useful parts of tomtom are open. I'll take another look at gpsdrive. There's no point to using Dijkstra. A* is a much better algorithm in route planning because you have a very simple admissible heuristic...

    Pandora Pandora And Python

that's how it should be done. also, python on Pandora is one of the things I'm most excited about. Most (if not all) apps that are coming to a Pandora near you (that are authored by me) are going to be Python programs.

Pandora As In In Car Entertainment System?

It's funny that you mention kiosk lag - I actually worked for a company that made photo kiosk software for 6 months and one of the things that we did better than the other guys was threading stuff in the background so the UI stayed responsive. It's like the self-checkout in Walmart that takes...

Pandora As In In Car Entertainment System?

Where is OpenStreetMap unreliable? In the areas I live in, it's better than the commercial maps. Maybe you don't have a good community of editors near you; you could be the first! Yeah Navit is okay... but it's not good or great. Hence why I'm writing my own satnav Pandora software. As I...

Pandora As In In Car Entertainment System?

Yes but the OSS for gps navigation is absoutely terrible. The commercial solutions (garmin, tomtom) are pretty awful from a UI standpoint but still slightly better. That's what I'm going to do. I also have a bluetooth OBD II scanner that I'll leave on.
