We don't get pay cheques, the employer transefers our pay directly to our bank account. However, all taxes are already payed by the employer so no work on your part. As for services then yes that's quite good here but the system is falling apart now because people live longer and fewer are born...
Well, in sweden you first have to pay social taxes for employies and then they have to pay income tax so 50-60% is taxes :( It's still a good pay though.
The great part of GP2X is just that it's not as good as a PSP. And with good I mean what the average gamer think is good. The average gamer (at least the hardcore kind) belive 2D is a thing of the past. 2D makes it easier to develop games for and there's a lot of other advantages with GP2X, esp...
The great parts about letting GPH handle the sales are quite a few. For example if you're an european developer you would have to add VAT to your price if you are selling the games yourself, swedish VAT for games is 25%. Having your game listed on GPH's site you get free exposure of your game...
Mini:
3D is possible but seems to be a lot of work for something that may not run fast enough. 2D is quite simple and can be made to look really good. If you aren't planning to sell a lot or earn much per game then it's best to have a short development time but without quality losses.
Vaustar:
Depending on where you live that's about a month on a regular job, if you are the only dev. In Sweden about half would go to tax. But if I could sell 500 games a month it would be nice. I'm planning to get a job next year, maybe not a full time job though so some extra cash is welcome...
WiFi: Maybe possible to use an SDIO card with WiFi if someone makes a driver.
USB: No Host mode avalible so it may not be possible unless it can be activated somehow.
EXT: If it's possible to use it for anything but TV-Out that is.
Due to the low price it's not impossible for anyone with a job...
Hehe, I don't really belong to any category myself. I'm very new to this community. Well, was around before a lot of new people showed up and asked the same questions over and over. When I came GP2X still felt kinda new even in this forum. And the only one who have ever called me a newbie is me...
GPH have said that they will be selling games from their site. Anna couln't be specific about how it will work but people will be able to pay for and download DRM protected games from their site. I don't know what GHP will take for this service as I've not gotten an answer on the forum or...
I have a lot of game ideas that would do wonders on GP2X and I also want to sell them. Depending on the complexity of the games the price may go that high as well but I intend to start small.
I'm all for homebrew as I'm a dev myself but I think that most if not all buyers will be putting more time on emulation then anything else. There's a lot of people who just want to play emulated games for free but I hope that there will still be a demand for commercial GP2X games. If there are...
This is the answer I got:
"PB is Virtual Machine based. The compiler produces byte code, programs are executed through a byte code interpreter. It wouldn't be viable with PB produced native x86 code."
Custom Memory Stick PRO Duo <- nothing custom about it, any brand should work.
4.3" - 480 x 272 TFT LCD <- You can't really say that it's clearly better, this screen is thinner.
161 g <- he is saying that this isn't a clear winner compared to 260 g? Percentage difference is huge.
PNG <- I...
