I'd like to see the developer who put in all the time and effort into maing a high quality commercial level game and then offer it for free. Sure he/she might get some donnations but it probably won't be much. I'm sure he'd get very popular though if the game is fun :)

Easier then C means a simpler programming solution like Basic.
Game making software means something like Click&Play or RPG Maker.
I'm interested in knowing the situation for possible games for GP2X and if there's a big interest there may be a larger interest for others to make game...
I've actually not seen Hikaru no Go but I'm planning to. It's the national game week here in Sweden and I had the chance to learn Go yesterday. I find the strategy to be far more interesting then Chess or Othello. I've never tried backgammon.

I think that the most important thing is to have an art software that supports layers and then just chose the one that you prefer. Personally I tend to do simple graphics because I can make it look great.
For best I would say Photoshop myself but it's not simple in anyway. I don't know about newer versions but there are packages that is easier to work with when dealing with sertain types of graphics. But in the end it's the skill of the user that does the trick. Have you never done any graphics...
The problem with F200 is that you can't use AA batteries in it. But on the possitive side the Li-Ion may last a lot longer without recharge. However, they mentioned a 2nd version with USB host a very long time ago.
