    Feedback On Thumbstick Design

Maybe just gluing a rubber O-ring to the top of the current joystick would be the easiest solution? ;)

    Fuse-gp2x, Spectrum Emulator (v0.001)

Hmm.. must have grabbed on older version by mistake then - there were definitely no Open/Save/Reset/Exit buttons on my keyboard. Grabbed the download off your site, and there they are! :) Told you it was something obvious ;) Cheers!

    Fuse-gp2x, Spectrum Emulator (v0.001)

Okay. . . I've got the emulator running, but I'm completely baffled as to how I then load a game. I get the start screen, press L, and get a QWERTY keyboard. And then I'm lost. The instructions say move to 'Open' - where IS 'open'?? I daresay I'm missing something very obvious, but. . .

    Could You Mod A Touchscreen?

Just curious (I've never even played with a DS) but with all the "having two screens gives DS games a totally revolutionary interface" hype, it saddened me that the GP2X would never be able to produce its own DS-style games. But then I found that you can actually buy USB touchscreens, and I...

How Many Units Have They Sold?

Funnily enouh, I wrote a blog entry on what a huge advantage free software gave the GP2X, if anybody's interested. . .

How Many Units Have They Sold?

At the moment, I have to confess, I'm still using my GP32 for most gaming. (Tho that may change when I get home & put the Spectrum emulator on :) ) But the GP2X is much better for music & movie playing :) I've got a complete series of Red Dwarf and three Wallace & Gromit films on one SD card...

How Many Units Have They Sold?

Don't be. It's simple: Hardware fault: Return to vendor Any other query: Consult forums :) That's par for the course with free software computing!

    Icon Size

Well, I think that makes it pretty clear that the answer to my original question is "make them whatever size you want" :) Cheers all!

    Icon Size

I'm working on a skin or two, but before I risk actually shunting them onto my Gp2X: Do all the images have to be the exact same size as the existing images, or is the GP2X smart enough to work with slightly different sizes? I don't mind if the answer's "It'll work but look crap", I just need...

    Is The Gp2x For Noobs

There's nothing to it when it comes to basic useage, and there's already a whole bunch of guides for the more complex stuff. If you want to play music or a movie, copy it to the SD card and open it in the appropriate player. If you want to rip a movie from a DVD, then take a look at the Video &...

    Pulsar 0.2c Is Out Now!

Well, it took a while to get through the download process, but I got it in the end - it's a very nice skin! I can host it on my website for you if you'd like - would make for a much simpler download process! Let me know. . .

    "what Games Will I Like?"

When it comes to getting suggestions for new music to listen to, there's last.com and Gnomoradio and iRate radio and probably loads of others: They analyse what you like to listen to, compare you to other people who like the same stuff, and play you music the other people have also liked and...

    Mini Card Reader

But it only cost me the price of two stamps to get one very similar from Craigx! ;) Either way, they certainly work better than the GP2X's card read/write ability at the moment!

    A Dvd Ripping Guide

Odd, works fine on my PC. . . ah well, I'll re-rip them when I get a minute! Come to think of it, I should probably explain how to re-sync the sound where necessary as part of the guide.

    A Dvd Ripping Guide

Righto, here's my first attempt. It's really aimed at Linux users, but the techniques should be applicable to just about anybody with ripping software: http://linux.oneandoneis2.org/GP2X/rip.htm And feedback'd be appreciated, so long as it's more constructive than "It sucks!" ;)

    Dvd Rips

Good point! I think I'll go with trailers - they'll take up rather more space than five-second clips, but they'll illustrate the quality issues better, and probably be less copyright-nazi hassle. I'm not overly worried about the MPAA myself, since I'm non-US, but I believe my web page is...

    Dvd Rips

So I want to do a little guide for ripping from DVDs to your GP2X. As part of it, I'd like to have some actual samples of some well-known DVD to illustrate what I'm talking about. So I'd like to know: - Does normal "fair use" stretch to five-second clips of a movie being made available for...

Converting A Fat32 Partition On The Sd Card

Using cfdisk on my SD card rendered it unreadable: The Gp2x doesn't like partions. I had to wipe out the partition & then just use mkdosfs to turn the whole device into a FAT filesystem. Bizzare, but that's what works. . .

So Ware Are The [insert Console Here] Emu?

Ah, but how long will it be before there's a GP32 emulator available for the GP2X? :) Does anyone know if a CPC emulator like Pituka is going to happen for the GP2X? There's a couple of games I used to have on my old CPC that don't seem to have been released anywhere else, so I can't retire my...

Gpl & Source Code - Constructive Suggestions

A few years ago, as some may recall, SCO was suing various Linux vendors, claiming that proprietary SCO-owned code had been incorporated into the Linux kernel. They were met with a general response of "Tell us what code infringes, and we'll immediately replace it with non-infringing code." If...
