Here is a new version of Yahtzee for the GP2X, it is a small update but improves on the controls if you use a D-Pad to play:
- Now remembers previous position of cursor when moving between score sheet and dice.
- Cursor will scroll between options in game when Up or Down is held instead of...
Although I am supposed to be 'retired' from coding on GP2X I have itchy fingers to code something so I will make a small update for Yahtzee sometime this week. I got some feedback on the comments on GP2X Archive and they were too good to leave out.
First update is the D-Pad controls, you no...
juanvvc - The manual has rules for the game on page 10 which were mostly copied from the wikipedia entry so it covers the game rules and how to play.
Alex. - Unfortunately no update to Squares. The game wasn't exactly designed for touch screen in mind, its not as simple as recompiling. Although...
Not sure yet to be honest. At the moment probably not, as I do not have as much time as I used to and to be honest the majority of people here only care about emulators which is kinda proven with two replies for this release. I would rather spend my free coding time writing for a machine where...
As mentioned last week I was planning to update one of my first GP2X games from when the GP2X was first released. It was originally a port of my GP32 game Yahtzee and due to the early development kit for the GP2X the port wasn't that great. So now the F-200 is out, touch screen is perfect for...
VAT on anything over £18 and import tax on anything over £7 (you would have to pay both in your case if declared correctly), they changed the prices earlier this year. Packages marked as a gift can also be charged now as customs finally caught onto that scam. Airmail still seems to be the best...
I sent out a preview release to the people who replied to this post and a few others and the feedback is good so far, so I am happy :) I think I have completed everything I wanted to add to the game so I am doing some final testing today and the release should be later today or tomorrow.
Yeah I noticed it earlier, I haven't tried the game on GP2X yet but it is almost certain the light green font for the score helper is not bright enough. I will probably change it to the brighter colour used in 'PLAYER ONE' text.
I mentioned in my Round Em Up release post I was toying with the idea of updating one of my older games Yahtzee which I made not long after the GP2X was released. It was a very quick port with early SDL libs and was pretty crap compared to the original version on the GP32. I wanted a proper...
I will give it a go a bit later on and let you know. Spending the day at home as the boiler has gone and am waiting for the repair man, I got a feeling its going to be an expensive day...
update:
I got the following warning which I don't usually get when compiling using DevkitGP2X...
As promised here is a new version of Round Em Up with F-200 touch screen support, a few bugfixes and minor additions. Although the version number is alpha 3 it is far from being an incomplete game and is very playable, so please do not let the version number put you off. Saying that...
Alex, you could be right. If you think alpha you think of it as a very unfinished game full of bugs etc. The game should be pretty much bug free now and is very playable so maybe should be a v0.1 release or something.
killersquirrel, yeah feel free to make some levels and post them here...
Its mainly round em up that hasn't got much interest, probably the game is not to everyone's liking so there is not much point in continuing it.
I have been toying with the idea of updating one of my first games I ported to the GP2X, Yahtzee. Its mainly because the port was very quick and I...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I have uploaded alpha 3 to the gp2x archive so I will post the news when its been updated there.
I have came to the decision that this will be the last release of the game. First I want to say thanks to everyone that took the time to play the game and submit...
I started a project a while back for a brain training style game on the GP2X but got sidetracked by Round Em Up and continued that instead. This was long before the F-200 was announced but touch screen is perfect for the game as proven with the DS brain training games and its many clones. I even...
Thanks for trying it, the second error is a change in the sdl libs between my build and paeryns so its easy to fix, I wouldn't have spotted it so nice find :) The backspace bug will be fixed in the next release.
I have uploaded a new test version of the game with the latest touchscreen code which should be very accurate now. Here are the list of changes so far, please note this is not a proper release so don't post as news:
- Touchscreen support added.
I do not have a F-200 so I have no idea how...
yeah grab the one at the bottom of his page "GP2X accelerated SDL - Up to 21MB graphics memory (8/11/07)" thats the latest build from today which also includes touch screen support. copy the two files from the download into their respective folders on the dev setup.
