    Look In The Mirror

That guy isn't small, the room is huge! That means it has a huge clutch! Rip and tear! RIP AND TEAR YOUR CLUTCH!

    Look In The Mirror

No, the original poster is completely right. Back when the Brits were still banging stones together to make fire, China already had a well-going space program based on atomic rockets. Unfortunately there was a slight mishap during the ascent of one rocket and it made what's now called the Gulf...

    Craigx Does It Again...

Here's the official roadmap for the future, with precise due dates for everything: Get the cases done - The Chinese promise it won't take too long. Get the boards populated - Not that much work, right? Get everything assembled - Once we've started it will be done real quick, probably. Packaging...

    Wireless Electricity And The Pandora2

They admitted as much. The Airnergy's battery was pre-charged. As someone pointed out on /., charging something from an 802.11 transmitter does take a bit. Granted, the calculations in that post assume a distance of 10 meters but you can't guarantee you'll be closer to a hotspot much of the...

    Wireless Electricity And The Pandora2

And we just need to bump up the transmission power of our WiFi rigs by several thousand percent in order for it to work. I've seen this discussion on Slashdot already; the math simply doesn't work out.

Why Is Openpandora Ltd. Not On This List?

The Final Two will be revealed later this season. Look out for people who keep hearing the same song out of nowhere.

    First Usb Gamepad

That's probably because PS-style controllers are what the most people want. I, for one, am perfectly happy with the PSX controller layout; then again I mostly play games that only need the d-pad. For those, a layout like the X-Box's would be fairly useless.

    Pandora Device For Badasses?

    > boot pandora The Pandora boots up and you are greeted by the familiar box logo. You hear the sounds of a grue scuttling away, blinded by the glow of the display. > connect wifi You find an open network and connect to it. > browse to gp32x.de (starting Firefox) You see the GP32Xtreme...

    Pandora Device For Badasses?

Confirmed: Ass orality will be a launch feature of the Pandora.

    First Usb Gamepad

Does this mean that connecting a USB joystick involves rebooting the device? That's something I only want to do for kernel upgrades.

    Friday The 15Th.

Neither would a netbook. Seriously, those things are slow for their price. Granted, you can run a lightweight Linux on one and expect somewhat decent performance but it's in no way a real laptop replacement (just like the Pandora isn't; it competes more with UMPCs than with laptops).

    Friday The 15Th.

What Craig means is that he's talked to the Chinese and they are confident that they may have done another test run by tomorrow to figure out what they still need to fix.

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

The problem with exFAT is that, to my knowledge, Microsoft has patented some of the additions they have made. It's more encumbered than FAT32 (where only the VFAT extensions are patented). Had Microsoft released exFAT to the general public with an irrevocable grant to any patents that may cover...

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

They already did go with a file system owned by one company. exFAT is part of the SDXC standard and nothing will change that. If Microsoft decides to start charging people for it then everyone will have to pay up or successfully challenge Microsoft's IP rights to exFAT (or their licensing terms)...

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

For instance because that would create a compatibility nightmare. For example, your ext4 device would only work with computers running Linux as ext4 is supported by no other OS and not downwards-compatible without nonstandard formatting options. Plus, most FSes are horrible choices for flash...

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

Well, they needed a new revision of the SD standard to get away from FAT32 anyway. While FAT32 can support sufficiently large file systems, it can't support sufficiently large files, having a hard cap at 4 GiB. Camcorders recording at HD quality can easily fill up more than four gigs with one...

    Pandora As A Bluetooth Peripheral

The problem is that outside of Linux, dbus is pretty much nonexistent. I wouldn't want to tie the device to one specific host OS even if it's unlikely that non-FOSS developers are interested. Granted, one could simply ship libdbus with the game but that's a bit bloaty and I don't know whether...

    Pandora As A Bluetooth Peripheral

Huh? Finger runs on port 79 and is used to expose information about the user to the internet. What I intend runs on port 4860 (or some other not-yet-registered post) and is used to expose information about one process to the local machine (that you can query it over the network is just a welcome...

    Pandora As A Bluetooth Peripheral

(I've searched for similar threads but couldn't find any with thread titles indicative of similar content so here we go.) On my iPod touch I have an application that, when combined with a server on a Windows or OS X box, allows me to use the iPod as a WLAN-attached gamepad. Yes, it's as...

    Excellent Keyboard For Pandorians

They are. I used the predecessor on a Linux box and it's fairly straightforward (or rather it were if I could remember how to do it precisely). These media keys are regular keys like any other. They send their code and Linux and/or X11 responds accordingly. You just need to find out which...
