    Just Curious - Why Bluetooth?

Off the top of my head, wireless mouse and keyboard (and other accessories) and tethering to a phone for mobile Internet.

    Learning Linux For Pandora?

They're all different desktop environments/window managers (wiki articles). That's one of the hard things to explain to people used to Windows (usually phrased in the annoyingly impossible to answer question of "but what does Linux look like?"). In Windows there's (for the most part) only one...

    Learning Linux For Pandora?

^ That's probably one of the main goals of the linux community in general these days: make things simple and easy for newcomers and non tech-savvy people, without that simplicity crippling functionality advanced users want.

    Learning Linux For Pandora?

It's not that it'd be "bad", in fact having easy GUI options to fall back on would probably be helpful for when you get confused. What I'm saying is don't rely solely on those GUI options, learn how to use the command line too. After a while you might find Ubuntu's "user-friendliness" to be...

    Learning Linux For Pandora?

Ubuntu is without a doubt the most common distro for desktop use, and is oriented towards people new to linux. Their site probably has tons of information. However, if you want experience that will be more useful with the Pandora, I suggest learning how to use the command line, as Gnome (the...

    Pandora: Really Out This Month?

Well, openpandora.org still says "June/July for casual users" and Craig has recently said "there are no big delays." I would think the upcoming blog post will at least mention an estimate for the release date. Personally, I'm thinking late July at the earliest, maybe August.

    Ah, what the hell. I have 4 physical drives, 1 500GB and 3 250GBs. CODE Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sdb1 28G 23G 3.2G 88% / /dev/sdb2 198G 113G 75G 61% /home /dev/sdd5 232G 46G 175G 21% /data/1 /dev/sdc5...

I... I'm assuming this is a joke, right? If so, LMAO. If not, well, LMAO even more.

What The Heck Does It Look Like?

I'm considering getting this, though it is a tiny bit pricey for a keyboard. I've tried those roll-up keyboards and didn't really like them.

Media + Network Stream + Tv Output?

I would assume that there will be a samba client either on the Pandora by default or simple enough to install. This should be possible, depending on how much you want to get your hands dirty (i.e. there might not be a simple point-and-click interface for the use of samba/nfs just yet.)

Indeed there is, at openpandora.org, at the very top of the page on the right.

What Are You Looking Forward To?

+1 for OP. Pandora and Freerunner. Unfortunately, though I wanted to get a Freerunner when it comes out, it looks like I'll have to wait. It's just too much for both of them, plus the fact that I'd want an unlimited data plan with the Freerunner will make it very pricey. I'll probably wait until...

    When Will It Be Avaible

Though most people on the forum seem to prefer to wait, I agree to some extent. I want to wait until the hardware has been tested thoroughly and there are no bugs or problems with that. As for software, that can always be updated later, and chances are once the Pandora is widely available the...

Pandora's Emulators - What Will Work And What Won't

Awesome! One more thing to add to the long list of "any of these features alone would make me buy the Pandora."

Pandora's Emulators - What Will Work And What Won't

I am sorry if this is a stupid question, and it probably is, but I have to ask. I don't know much about macintosh or their history or OS versions or anything, so I don't know how early we're talking with "Early models." When I was younger, I spent many, many hours playing a game called Escape...

    When Will It Be Avaible

^ Agreed. I am of course very anxious for the Pandora to come out, but I try to suppress my impatience. Apparently they didn't want to post too many news updates so as not to start rumors, but that plan seems to have backfired somewhat (i.e. there has been a ton of speculation and unfounded...

    When Will It Be Avaible

I'm going on vacation the last week of August, and have a really long flight, so I'm just crossing my fingers that it'll be out by then.

    When Will It Be Avaible

There is a news update to openpandora.org (I may soon have to file a lawsuit against the Pandora developers demanding a new F5 key, by the way). I did not want to make a new topic simply because the last "OH LOOK A BLOG UPDATE!" topic was so massively full of fail that it left a bad taste in my...

    When Will It Be Avaible

As someone on 64-bit linux, which there has long been no official flash player for, I tried swfdec and gnash and found that while for the most part they were okay with videos, most games didn't work. (Eventually I got the 32-bit official one working, in case anyone was curious.)
