    Hi-fi Mp3

So, you are saying: buy a ~$300 (I don't know how much soundforge is these days) program to basically use it as a GUI for a free program. Good thinking ;) . I know soundforge is a good program for audio editing (I use an older Sonic Foundry version for recording, myself), but if you want to...

    Hi-fi Mp3

If you think 64kbps sounds good, I wouldn't really trust your claim that using "320kbps files and hi-fi will sound great." No offense intended. Most people would not pay attention to the difference in quality between a CD played in a decent player and a portable mp3 player, but the difference...

Also, look at the user guide from the archive. It has a simple tutorial for setting up a development environment.

    Some Battery Questions

From Sam's Club, I got 8 Energizer 2500mah AA's and 4 800mah AAA's with a charger that will charge 4 batteries at a time for $25. The charger isn't very good; it works, but it only charges for 8 hours; it doesn't sense when the batteries are fully charged or anything.

Is This The New Gp2x We Have Been Expecting...?

NAND is, I believe, a form of EEPROM (electronicly eraseable, programable read-only memory). It is a non-volatile form of memory (i.e. it doesn't lose information when you cut power. You can write a file to it without erasing everything because it is broken up into smaller blocks; the block is...

I'm Posting This From Qtopia On My Gp2x

I believe there is a way to get net access over the USB cable connected directly to a computer.

I think it looks alright, but the stick and buttons look really cheap.

    Cnet Review

I like this sentence the best. I wasn't aware we had WMV and AC3 support yet  . Also, I know I've gotten the whole "second processor and separate video processor" roles confused before, but saying that "64MB of NAND memory" is what allows the GP2X to play videos at any resolution is...

    Supertux Gp2x Problem, Wont Start

I also have the problem where supertux and the hacked versions of ssnes show only black screen. I noticed the problem with supertux on the open2x firmware and hacked ssnes on both cramfs and open2x (never tried supertux on cramfs).

    Text Files

gp2x VText Though, I've haven't tried it myself yet. I'm saying that you probably won't be able to find a good size collection of free audiobooks for download at a legitimate website unless they are read by a computer. If you want to find a pay site for downloading audiobooks, a simple google...

    Text Files

Reading a book on the gp2x is fine. I've read King Solomon's Mines and The Picture of Dorian Grey on my gp2x. You might want to try the alternative viewer that was just released. Formatting text files for the original reader can be a pain.

My favorite is the Monty Python skin, but it doesn't have all the pictures for 1.4.

    Alternate Cpu Tweak Utility?

You can specify the settings of the LCD clock generator in a script. Try using the UPLL for the LCD clock; I have always liked it better, and I believe changing the CPU clock has less of an affect on scanlines when using UPLL. Also, you made the mistake of having a comma splice in this...

    How Long Before Recharge?

I think I remember reading they should be charged every month. I've also read it is good to fully discharge them before every charge, so I would suspect just "topping them off" in the charger isn't very good.

    Strange Tv-out Thing

I only counted 15 pins. The Ext. connector on the GP2X is 24 pins, iirc.

Gp2x Break Out Box (finished Product)

I think this product looks really cool, but $50 is more than I want to spend on a breakout box. I know you are probably making this in small quantities, and you still need to make profit, but if I were to buy a bob, it would need to be closer to $30.
