    It's the keyboard layout.

On my laptop Delete is Fn + Backspace. I'm not fond of it but it does the job. In your layout, with Fn(Meta) both on it's left half, placing Backspace under Fn + Spacebar would've been at least an improvement to the Pandora's location for it and not too difficult to do. Anyhow, I think you...

Being impartial here. I would place Backspace at Meta + Spacebar so it is at/closer to the keyboard, keep Delete where it is.   B)

Thanks for explaining. As much as I know of SysRq and after reading this I'm inclined to add an Alt together with Power if it's going to act the part of SysRq too.    I presume you're speaking of this post. If it's doable as opposed to moving the numbers behind Fn(Meta) then it's great.

I meant for when the Power button is used for SysRq.  It's not my solution Neelix. It worked on the Pandora. Press Shift + Fn + , for : that is, according to the wiki. -Saber

    It's the keyboard layout.

You're probably right but then again how do we keep the power button from behaving like the power button so the unit doesn't shutdown or sleep? Hold it down until another key we're sure we want to press for the MagicSysRq combo on the keyboard is pressed? Is there any reason we can't preassign...

I've stated before that these pairs as a panacea could be mapped secondarily under Shift + Fn for DOSBox and QEMU where say [ ] \ - = ; / become by holding Shift + Fn with them, as it was done I presume on the Pandora for another Colon, to { } | _ + : ?. ;)

^ I think - and + should be on the same primary, Shift or Fn level.

I agree some of the Pandora layout is a mashup but I don't think removing the numbers as primary is an improvement over it. In my most recent layouts in my sig, symbol pair arrangements are better, brackets { [ ] } in particular. Symbols for - + = _ as well are in more effective locations too.

    It's the keyboard layout.

I've said this before that not everyone who will buy a Pyra will use it to code, or play MORPG/DOSBox games, and I haven't given up anything by retaining numbers as primary. They are primary on keyboards because they are used by most general users quite often, yours truly included. My layout...

    Action button labels, again

Seems to me that if Fn + q, a two key combo, actually quit the game cold as expected and not brought up a dialogue box that there wouldn't have been a hitch for you Tenka in exiting the game. Alternatively, if this dialogue box was necessary, which I've never played the game so I don't know for...

It's a good point you've brought up so I'm curious to know if the keyboard driver isn't working, then how do we utilize any low-level command combos, which is why we'd want SysRq in the first place?

    Finishing up the hardware

I also kind of like the stone grey coloration, at least for a special edition Pyra.  :)

Added an alternative form of the v5.0 layout(my main proposal) called v5.0b to the spoiler and my sig below.

    It's the keyboard layout.

I have this same(gimmick?) in my layouts too where the person could chord Fn and Shift by covering both of them with a thumb or index finger to get a new level of values, but I don’t much care for the average Pyra user to be pushed to have to do this every time, particularly for standard...

    It's the keyboard layout.

It's not a leap anywhere when you've introduced these "features" by removing set standards(like the number row as primary and those symbols normally found as their Shifted values like !@#$%^&*() which now require TWO modifiers to access). Also, where are the hardware toggles for WiFi/4G/BT and...

    Finishing up the hardware

It's likely the latest print from the company Michael requisitions them from. The apparent difference in shade shown in the prototype's two "platters" shouldn't be any different though in the final product, whatever the tba color will be.

    It's the keyboard layout.

My layout does not sacrifice usability or so-called DOSBox compatibility by having symbol pairs on separate keys rather than different modifier levels like yours has them. I've shown in earlier iterations, my April 23rd v1.1 layout, how these pairs could still be present but veiled. For example...

    Predictions of emulators.

People can be a little irascible around here when the words of another don't align with their own way of thinking. Look at how some threads balloon as a result, and usually over something quickly forgotten.  We need a hazing subforum I suppose.  :P
