    dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/sd/swap.img bs=512 count=xxxM mkswap swap.img swapon swap.img done I have actually done this while testing stuff and for qtopia, but only for short times. It wont give you a speed boost in normal apps, but it helps a lot with qt.

    I dont think you can change the actual brightness. However you can change the gamma using the cpu/lcd tweaker from the archive.
