    Convince Me...

Both the Pandora and iPhone will have flash; eventually. How soon is eventually? No one knows. Edit: If the N900's flash isn't full of dynamically linked proprietary libraries, we could have it as soon as the device launches. But until then, it's up to Adobe to release a free flash player we...

    Shipping Date: Guessing Game

Nope, just got it off of Google. You kinda have to be born in MN to understand why it's gray duck, and why people are willing to defend it to the death.

    Shipping Date: Guessing Game

I am proud to be from a state that takes matters such as this seriously.

It's Duck, Duck, Gray Duck. Not Goose. I will end you.

    Convince Me...

The iPhone + iControlPad will be bulky and still pretty limited. Not to mention, the on screen keyboard is annoying. Having the hardware keyboard will be awesome. Plus, Pandora will be able to do anything the iPhone/iPod Touch can. Including SMS and phone calls (oops, ignore that :))

    Current Status Of The Moulds?

Personally, I'd prefer to be updated on every single fart that is even slightly remotely attached to OP. I don't care if it's something as big as moulds being 100% done, or them deciding to change stylus design, or them finding out the battery is actually rated 4201mAh instead of 4200mAh...

    Newsgroup Reader

sabnzbd is years old IIRC, the original author abandoned it and the community replaced it with sabnzbd+. Don't quote me on that though. It's very stable from what I've used. I'm also kinda shocked that python can keep up with downloading at 5MB/s. And the only newsgroup reader I've ever used...

    Current Status Of The Moulds?

This would involve the boards being shipped to Texas to be populated, which will take a while, then being shipped back to China, along with LCD screens to be assembled. All of the OP devs already own a board, LCD, and keymat, so it would just be faster to send the cases to them and let them...

    Newsgroup Reader

Haha, I read this as RSS reader and typed up a post on that.... ANYWAY. I use sabnzbd+ on Linux, which is literally just a python program. There's no porting needed to get it running on Pandora, not even a recompile. However, I really suggest only using it when you absolutely NEED to, because...

    Software Restore

I agree! Back when I used my first ThinkPad, the NAND chip was basically undefeated. No one had built the device to dump it. The only way to get around the BIOS password, even in the case where you legitimately lost your password, was to send it into IBM where they would literally replace the...

    Software Restore

Linux always has 'user management'. If you mean on bootup, you get greeted with a nice message asking you to select account... then it varies. If you're running E17, GNOME, KDE... then it's installed by default. However, Xfce does not come with one. When you boot up your Pandora (assuming they...

    Software Restore

This is simply not true. Look into cold boot attacks. Take a notebook that is powered on but files are encrypted. Insert USB drive containing hacked linux distro, reboot. The Linux distro will dump the RAM to the USB drive, and then you have weeks to sit there and dig through it to find...

Us Bank Fees Via Google Checkout

If it's $4 via Visa, I don't have a problem. But my bank charges ~$50 per international debit transaction. I know that it is a transaction within the US, since Google Checkout is US, but the bank doesn't list any currency exchange fees... anywhere.

    Freecom Mobile Drive 500Gb

NO. You have no idea how much this would piss me off. Whenever I buy a movie, the first thing I do is throw it in my drive and rip it, then encode it in a format that isn't shit. CDs/DVDs/BluRay is stupid in an age where there are *much* better storage mediums, not to mention the horrible codecs...

    Why Not Wacom?

16 levels of pressure is more than enough. Wacom would be more expensive, I don't get how anyone could think otherwise. I would *kill* to have a Pandora based around a tablet design though... I'm thinking the screen covering the entire top area (from side to side, no room for speakers), and...

Us Bank Fees Via Google Checkout

Thanks for the responses everyone. Emailed my bank and they said that I would not be charged anything.... but that I should contact Google to figure out how much it'll be in USD. I think they think that Google Checkout is a PayPal clone and does currency conversion... Either way I was told I'd...

    Seaman

YES YES YES, OH GOD YES. Seaman was a worthless, yet abso fucking lutely HILARIOUS game. Having seaman in my pocket (*giggles*) would alone justify the price tag of the Pandora.

    Charge Other Device With Pandora?

*kind of*. It would take a PC 8.4 hours to charge the Pandora, IF IT IS OFF. If it is on and completely idle (which would be required to charge both devices), let's say using 200mAh, it would take 14 hours. If you are charging another device with it, let's say a GPS that has a 2000mAh battery...

    Skype To Become Open Source‽

Google Voice is considerably cheaper for any place I call often, compared to Skype. Canada is free, vs $0.02/min on Skype, which by itself would be $5-6 a month savings for me. Edit: Gtalk != Google Voice, not directed at anyone just saying in general.
