Yes it is a custom port no tused on any device that I know of.
There have been two people who have built cables by hand for sale, PECA and myself. Unfortunatly AIUI Peca is AWOL and I have had difficulties getting a quality reasonable enough to sell.
You can buy connectors and circuit boards...

I would be interested in buying a extremely cheap Pandora. No wireless, USB host, nubs, 2nd SD card, rechargeable battery. Along with poorer screen, ram, cpu, nand. At <70$ usd

I am interested but not at that price. I can get two OTG adapters (solid little thing instead of a cable) for 1.84 eur shipped. I would prefer a cable tho.

Also, I believe that the current form factor (what a stupid phrase) of the Pandora is a big part of what makes it appealing.
That along with the fully open, unlocked, free, customizable, flashable etc os that fits in your pocket.
