    Current State of the Pyra

As mentioned before: this does not disable the audio stream for the microphone but only mutes it. This can improve things but not fix them. Disabling the audio stream is only possible by poking a register of the Palmas Chip directly at the moment.

A question for those that had Pandoras and have their Pyras now

Actually, the reason that the keyboard doesn't have that good tactile feedback is due to that the original designer of the mould forgot to add the PCB supporting pegs inside the case (which sadly can't be easily added) combined with that we didn't know exactly what exact type of plastic they...

Package not delivered at Dragonbox shop (SOLVED)

Sending an email, a PM and posting here is a bit of overkill I guess. Especially when the shop website mentions the best way to get in contact with me fast is by using WA, Telegram, Facebook Messenger or Discord...

    Current State of the Pyra

Muting doesn't help, only disabling. to my knowledge, no one is actively working on the audio driver at the moment, everyone is welcome to help out :)

Are replacement key mats still available?

wut? they do? I'll check that. and yes, we still have plenty of keymats left :)

    Hardware Some keys not lit?

Oh, yeah, that's one of the combined LED blocks that has failed. We test them here before shipping - so it seems it broke during transport. Of course we can replace that for you.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Might be a good idea to add the last changes date to the post. I'll do that in the future.

    Audio via headset

You don't have any such settings. As said: You need to poke the registers of the audiochip directly by using a tool to change registers at certain addresses. Something like that could be implemented in the driver so it's easier to switch them on/off via userspace, but at the moment, you can only...

    Audio via headset

Pulseaudio can use both hardware and virtual devices... don't know exactly how aTc set it up. No, you need to poke some registers to activate / deactivate streams. That's also one important thing: Even if you mute audio, the stream itself is enabled. So muting the speakers or headset does not...

    Audio via headset

Yes, I was expecting that it'll work on a push basis, so that it will only send signals when the value has changed :( I didn't expect a full polling here. However, that still can be fixed if functions are implemented like here...

Finally found some time to play with the Pyra myself :)

Yes. To enable the hardware functions of the driver, you need to load a binary firmware (which is available) and have a driver that can access it. The last time that system worked was on an old 3.x kernel (AFAIR), TI stopped updating the driver since then. We already have a driver that does...

Finally found some time to play with the Pyra myself :)

The tearing is software based, as it's not properly synchronized. Play some games / emulators that run using GL and there is absolutely no tearing left. So... if we would use Wayland, tearing on the desktop would be gone as well. That's still quite a bit of work though :) Well, the sensors...

Finally found some time to play with the Pyra myself :)

Only one annoying issue with all the EmuEX emulators: They register every press on the DPad twice while in the menu. Probably because it's mapped to joystick and cursor keys to the same time. Makes menu navigation with the DPad awkward. In-Game, it's fine. But that should be an easy fix :)

Finally found some time to play with the Pyra myself :)

Believe it or not: II did not find the time until last night to play some games and emulators with the Pyra. I was so busy setting up stuff, testing, etc, that I didn't find the time before. Well, what can I tell you? Here's my point from a users view so far :) * OS needs a bit more work. I...

    Mailing list has changed

As Debian Bullseye removed Mailman 2 and moved on to Mailman 3, the mailing list stopped working in August. It wasn't trivial to set it up - as my server uses virtual hosts, etc. and the instructions weren't THAT good.... However, it's now back in a working state. If you want to subscribe /...

    Current State of the Pyra

Yes, it will be used in future batches of the Pyra. So there won't be an US / EU version available anymore, only Standard and 4G :)

    Pyra hanging to black screen

Hm, probably related to the accelerated X graphics driver we're using. It probably has a few bugs which might trigger sometimes. It would be possible using a different one for testing, but it would be a lot slower desktop.
