    D-pad directions stuck after released

I wonder if there's a connection to the 'ghost moves' some users encounter in Squared - http://boards.openpandora.org/topic/16567-squared/page-3#entry362094/URL] I still see these regularly, others never seem to get them.

    D-pad directions stuck after released

It's happened for me most often in C4A Mame / PanMame (though I do play those most often...). Space Invaders only has left/right controls, but it's in that I think I've encountered it most. Firmware is up to date (it has happened before, under older firmware too), CC machine and XFCE desktop.

    D-pad directions stuck after released

Happens for me sometimes too, usually left or right direction controls, I always assumed it was something physical (although there is never any feel that the pad is 'stuck' down) and likewise it takes a sharp tap or two in the stuck direction to release it.

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

All the indie stuff, remakes and emulators will get away with less, the AAA titles will probably be in a kind of Arms Race to squeeze the most out at the upper limits specified. It'll be interesting to see if this announcement has an effect on high end GPU prices as the shipping date draws nearer.

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

A couple of new announcements on their blog, detailing the system specs you should be aiming for if you want to start saving now... https://www.oculus.com/blog/powering-the-rift/ https://www.oculus.com/blog/the-rifts-recommended-spec-pc-sdk-0-6-released-and-mobile-vr-jam-voting/ Note, this is...

Or they could stick with 10 and go Latin. So it would be Microsoft Decimus OS. MS DOS for short. Followed by MS DOS 2, DOS 3.....

    Bluetooth Zx Spectrum.

They showed an actual finished unit on the news this morning, looks like it's on the verge of shipping. £99 now though, although the spec and capabilities have increased (in a way, it can function as an actual Spectrum). I would much rather one of these than a Vega tbh. There's a spec/blurb...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

The official, less forthcoming announcement is here: https://www.oculus.com/blog/first-look-at-the-rift-shipping-q1-2016/ along with pictures of the CV1, or at least renders of what it'll look like. I can (just about) see that the lenses in it are much wider than the existing ones. Maximum FOV...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

I would imagine so, the big benefit being the huge increase in density and the physical separation allowing better use of each screen's area. The DK2 has a slightly lower FOV than DK1 because it's screen is smaller - separate screens means they can be centered for each eye giving maximum...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

It should work with anything that has HDMI output, if a suitable display mode can be output. The original DK1 and DK2 have - experimentally - worked on Raspberry Pi for example. I guess it depends on whether the CV1 demands a specific refresh rate or display mode the Pyra can't output. Then...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

IGN reported earlier today (then pulled the page, then put it back, then pulled it again..) and other sites are now reporting that Oculus are about to announce a Q1 2016 launch for the CV1, and a pre-order scheme opening later this year. Also that (this is the BIG bit, certainly in regard to...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

Shooting spherical (360) video is currently possible with one of several 'ok' quality cameras (and a few crappy ones) hovering around the $400+ mark, or the benchmark quality level with a half dozen (or more) Go Pro cameras in a special mount, followed by much grinding & stitching to render a...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

Late 2016 is what I'm guessing, I thought we'd be lucky to see a retail prototype at next year's CES. It's not a 'consumer' device yet, the average PC user (you know the sort, nobody here) would have a meltdown trying to juggle all the settings and little hurdles various applications can have...

Floppy disk labels for SD cards?

There are a few with specific smells, even (or especially) when off. I have a few 48k ZX Spectrums that are still new in box - the series 2 in particular has a smell that is unmistakeable. Have tested this effect on several former Speccy owners, all immediately identified it! Must be a combo...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

A couple of people have made attempts to get it to work with a Raspberry Pi even.. Now the Pi 2 is out it might actually be useable, if they can get a properly working display mode (where experiments have so far ended). Could be used for viewing 3D movies and 360 photos perhaps.

1 USB (For powering the headset's display, and for the head & positional tracking), and 1 HDMI* on your Graphics card. Joypad is almost mandatory, everything supports a 360 wired one. *It comes with a DVI-HDMI adapter in case your card doesn't have a HDMI output, though tbh if your card isn't...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

Then you'd probably pee yourself with excitement with a DK2. I thought Doom and Hexen would be a novelty experience, but they work amazingly well, really convincing sense of space and scale - those horned dragon enemies (the two legged ones with fireballs) in Hexen are something else! When you...
