    Standardized Emulator Menu

I also suggested this a few months back, there's a thread around here somewhere. if all emus had a uniform CLI interface then roms could be launched by simply selecting them in the file manager. other `frount end' features could be integrated right into the file manager.

    Apt Repositories For Pandora

QUOTE You didn't even read or understand anything I said, did you? There WILL be a package manager for the firmware, simply not for removable medias like SD Cards as it leads to a lot of problems. And there WILL be 99% dynamic linking - except for any non-common libraries. just didn't read...

Logistics Of Using Two Sd Cards

QUOTE OK, by that logic an 8GB card will be badly abused by having a couple dozen 1MB apps that are now 1.75 MB apiece due to statically linked libraries? I think that people using HD 720p video clips will be a worse abuser of the space. 16GB are reasonably priced, and 32GB are around...

Logistics Of Using Two Sd Cards

if the applications are statically linked, and there is no built in package manager, that prity much destroys my whole interest in this project. statically linking means having multiple copy's of the same thing, which wastes space for no good reason. not having a package manager would mean no...

    Choosing A Level Format

Tiles defiantly. I tryed to create a game with collision data stored in a separate file, it was a PITA trying to align everything with the image background. in the end i rewrote the whole thing using a tile based engine, then lost interest in the project :( QUOTE Ok so if I use a tile engine...

    What Will Os Be Like?

Linux is very modular so you can quite easily make it look like anything. Even if the Pandora did only have CLI at launch, I doubt it would be long before someone makes/ports a GUI for it. Linux's CLI is far more powerful than DOS...

    The Gigantic Pc Build Thread

QUOTE I figured going slightly overboard slightly... QUOTE watching video and using compiz compiz is useless, end of story. why the hell do you need such a powerful system for watching video? even my 2 year old 1.66 ghz(locked in 1000mhz mode), GFGO 7200(underclocked), minimal Arch Linux...
