    It could be we're there!

On the last video, the heat pipe was made of copper. Compared to copper heat conductive silicone is quite bad at transfering heat

    It could be we're there!

I'm Sorry to say this. But it's not that easy to find a company that will cut copper with laser. There are two main reasons why: The vapour of laser cut copper isn’t quite healthy. The laser light could be reflected by molten copper and damage the optics. The usual way to cut copper, brass...

    It could be we're there!

Yes. But they can't handle the heat cycles that well. Thats why mostly low cost chips useing aluminium bond wires.

    It could be we're there!

In wide ranges of the car industry tantalum capacitors got banned because of their tendency to catch fire. As far I knew, the cheaper a ceramic capacitor is, the more likely it screams. The higher the rated voltage, the less the tendency to scream.

    Shortest newspost ever... for now!

I was writing about the Pyra ones. Lets hope they turn out good with the new model. It would be bad if they goofed up something with the molds with prevent them from make good parts.

    Shortest newspost ever... for now!

Are there some cases without paint? If they are all painted, there is there a high possibility that they try to hide something. I don't want a Pyra case where color rubs off that easy like on my *new* 3DS

    Let's move the moulds!

Do you knew the terminology "process tolerances" and "process safety"? It means that your prototype works fine, but when you start mass producing, the devices start failing. Its because of process tolerances. Non process is able to produce exact identical parts. There is only a tolerance area...

What is your favourite part of the Pandora legend?

I found out about the Pandora quite early. There was a statement, that the Pandora will be delivered in two month. So I looked after 3 or 4 month what happened, only to see that nothing really happened. This repeated one or two times and I lost sight of the Pandora. Some years later I got...

    Let's move the moulds!

Its more like: The Bridge support 100.5 tons and you want to drive 100 tons on it. Sure, it supports it now, but will the bridge support the 100tons in 5 years when the first parts start to rust a little bit? Will you be able to add an additional layer of coating? What happens when the wind...

    The tale of the cases

Please get sure that the carbon fiber within the plastic don't affect W-Lan, Bluetooth and / or 3G/4G It would be bad if the Pyra gets a nearly indestructible shell but no wireless conection.

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

I thought about using one of the built in mikrocontroller to check frequently for incoming calls and blink the back-LED & rumble if that's the case. (Or trigger an event if the lid is open) And an adressbook is the simplest thing. More interesting would be to link the Thunderbird adressbook to...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

I don't knew where you get this. ED always said that he will make the Pyra open after it's finised and shipped. It would be silly to make it open in this state. There would be the risk for clones before ED got back his investment. You knew the new trend of chinese clones of Kickstarter before...

    Programmable Robot: Cozmo by Anki

When there is an video which has animated / altered parts in it like this video, it gets really suspicious. I don't think there is a advanced KI in it. There is more like a collision detection & some basic reactions to a light sensor built in. I would recommend to get some Lego Mindstorms or...

    GamesCom 2017 - Pictures

Coool. Cross Code is running on the Pyra (Last pic) Does it run smooth? Another question: Will the visitors be able to bring their own Pyra to the next Gamescom?:D

    iPhone X - $999

I have enough reserves to buy the maxed out version of the new egg-phone whenever I would like. (Sorry, egg-phone its a german language based pun.) But I'm still using my Nokia 3510 because everywhere I'm going, there is a PC or tablet available. The only annoying thing of my Nokia is that the...

I'm out of ideas for news-titles

One thing with tantalum caps is, that they're unreliable compared to ceramic capacitors. By the way: there is not "the ceramic capacitor". There are many different types of ceramic capacitor. The cheaper ones have a tendency to whine. There are sorts which stay silent.

    Open... and close... and open...

I wanted the 4GB for two reasons. 1.: To be able to run Firefox or other memory hungry programs. 2.: To be able to run some sort of ram disc to reduce the wear of the SD cards. It would be sad if the 4GB get dumped. I would wait another two months to get the 4GB version

Good to hear. I knew. I've seen the other way around too ;) But because we have most necessary machines to build our parts, we don't have to bother with this thema. Sent from my Atari2600 using Tapatalk
