Hi EvilDragon. By "gone" here, do you mean removed from the Pyra. Or do you mean dead, as in worn out from too many writes. For the former problem, that's why I was thinking of the internal slot -- I'd put a fairly large card in there and leave it in forever as a sort of equivalent of a hard...
To avoid that limitation, could one not simply move one's /usr file system somewhere else? To a card in the internal microSD slot, perhaps, would be most convenient.
That looks like a calculator to determine the number of Pyra pre-orders on a given day -- a complex algorithm with circles within circles.
Version numbers now? I think we need them. Except I think we're at 1072.04!
Indeed...
Thinking about this question made me realise that there is a pronounced fuzziness in my mind about Pyra software:
Will we be able to install and run packages directly from the Debian repository -- at least for packages that are architecture independent or that are architecture...
Great. The repo also is important.
No. Not in the parts of the world I'm familiar with anyway. It depends what the antenna is used for.
If the antenna is just used as a listening antenna, then I doubt it breaks any regulations, except for those that forbid "eavesdropping" [which I think are...
Except that, IIUC, it is illegal in many (all?) ITU member jurisdictions for an unlicensed individual to operate such an intentional radiator with an antenna with higher gain than that with which it manufactured. In some jurisdictions it might even be illegal to make the modification. (Of...
Hmm... That being the case, where are the settings that make the keyboard work in a console / virtual terminal (i.e. without X-Windows running)? (My searching skill has failed me here; it's much easier on a running system.)
Meanwhile, I found the .Xmodmap file that makes the keyboard work in X...
I noticed that on the older versions of the keyboard the "Fn" key is labelled "Meta". This made me wonder if the Fn-shifted keys are translated in hardware (like the Fn-shifted keys on a typical laptop) or if they send modifier down, unshifted key, modifier up, for translation by the OS.
For...
Well, reading the answers here has really enlivened my afternoon. :)
I'm hoping that the keys labelled "Usr1" and "Usr2" will be whatever I want them to be. Preferably by some sort of telepathic interface. Does the base Pyra have a telepathic interface or is that one of the functions of the...
Ha, yes. I seem to remember this too, and, yes, I think that's how the story/calculation ended up. Very dim memories though...
And, back on topic [as far as the topic of this thread is really on topic at all], here we are at 1071 again:
Looks like OL01 which is sort of 1070 (upside down).
[This reminded me of something that I had difficulty placing. Then the memory dredged itself up -- it was writing upside down text like 07734 (which says "hELLO") on my ancient Texas Instruments SR-40 in elementary school.]
Yup. :( For...
Me too. Consequently, when my hairdresser is in gaol I wash my own hair; freeing the incarcerated is just too stressful.
[Sorry; couldn't resist.]
Yeah, I'm guilty of that. On my five-ish-year-old laptop there's still a piece of plastic film over the power button / LED. I get so much...
