Scummvm: 1.2.0 Preview 1 For Gph Devices.

Thanks for the info, i'll have a look and see if I can spot any oddness, does it also fail on the Caanoo or GP2X builds (if you have hardware to test on)? Not really into getting an Abandonware copy (it's a pirate one just the same). I like to collect/own the games anyway and having the...

Scummvm: 1.2.0 Preview 1 For Gph Devices.

No probs, I don't own 'Cruise for a Corpse' (or rather, I have no idea where my old CD went since the mid 90's). I'll see if I can track down a copy on eBay and give it a test. It should work, is there anything of interest in the scummvm.std*.txt log files when you run it that I might find...

Scummvm: 1.2.0 Preview 1 For Gph Devices.

No and No. Performance is poor on the GP2X/Wiz and Caanoo and it introduces issues on the Wiz/Caanoo that I have not had time to address. I may get round to it at some point after 1.2.0 unless someone wants to help sooner (patches welcome ;) ). My stance has not really changed since you last...

Scummvm: 1.2.0 Preview 1 For Gph Devices.

To be honest most things should work just as you would expect, I am not aware of any major bugs (not saying there aren't any). The idea of the preview and SVN builds I do is to get feedback to help me squash the bugs I may not have noticed before the stable release. Performance and...

Scummvm: 1.2.0 Preview 1 For Gph Devices.

Just a quick news post to announce a first preview release of the upcoming ScummVM 1.2.0 for GPH devices (GP2X/Wiz and Caanoo). Downloads and information can be found on my site below. http://blogs.distant-earth.com/wp/?p=128 Please grab the downloads off my site rather than mirroring them so...

    Best Acorn BBC MICRO games

Repton, Elite and Chuckie Egg :D . Hmmm, I did a quick compile of Beebem a very long time ago during the development (from David Gilbert's *NIX tree), I assumed by now someone would have done a decent port/compile. Not sure if I even still have the binaries hanging around (it would pre-date...

    Scummvm1.1.1 Wiz

Maybe if I get time but it's not high on my list. As for resource usage. On a device like the GP2X/Wiz/Caanoo etc. libMAD with it's very tuned fixed point decoding will decode MP3's in less CPU cycles than FLAC (without carrying some more exotic FLAC patches that are a pain to get working well...

Scummvm: “Svn R52631” Builds For The Caanoo And Gp2X Wiz.

Hmmm, i'll look into that and give it a test, wonder if it is linked to the OPL issue mentioned. Hmmm, yep, really pleased with GPH doing that, it's a total pain and shifting the game screen about is a real mess/hack and I would really not want to do it :(. Hmmm, did it disappear when you...

Scummvm: “Svn R52631” Builds For The Caanoo And Gp2X Wiz.

Hi, SVN builds for the Caanoo with fixed up controls are on my site if anyone is interested. http://blogs.distant-earth.com/wp/?p=125 Feedback via this thread, the ScummVM forums or comments on the post would be appreciated. Do not expect it (or the reworked Wiz backend) to be bug remotely...

New Scummvm Version Has Beta Sci Support

Ok, sounds like the engine plugins are not being loaded, that's going to cause the issues you are seeing. Not sure why, those logs would be handy ;) . I'll look at this tonight and see if I can get the newer backend code into a testable state for a release. I don't want to waste time messing...

    Scummvm1.1.1 Wiz

Thanks for the testing, Crud, that's 2 games I don't own (I long since moved to a policy of testing only what I own, demos or games the publishers are ok with us having). I don't really have much FM-Towns stuff in my collection other than Loom :(. The screen scale code is cleaned up but...

New Scummvm Version Has Beta Sci Support

Ok, re-flashing is just a little extreme ;) . Odd as I have loads of accounts on my unit, no reason that anything like that should cause an issue (not saying it can't, just that I can't think of a 'how' for now). Anyway, from within the menu can you you click 'about' and ensure that the...

    Pandora Review In Linux Format

Hi, Sorry if my comments came across as negative, that was not my intention. I have a nasty habit of being blunt to the point of not really thinking (reason I tend not to spend much time on the forums these days I guess ;)). I am well aware of the restrictions of print mediums when it comes to...

    Pandora Review In Linux Format

Interesting review. Light on details, was it written with or without a device for the duration of the review? The pictures are really odd, they are of one of MWeston's pre-release unit (pretty sure it's the one I now have ;) ). That would be fine but its also running a really old version of the...

    Scummvm1.1.1 Wiz

It won't be updated by me, I tend to make sure it's uploaded to the main ScummVM site and point people there ;) . If I post it to every file archive I am at it all day. I notice your in Wiltshire :o , someone with a Wiz that is not a million miles away ;) .

    Scummvm Ds?

Considering the very limited raw power of the DS, ScummVM for the DS is awesome. I think that sums it up :). And just to add, it's recently been subject to quite a lot of work to improve memory utilisation so it's future looks very good for the backend. You are never going to get high-res games...
