    Release DeaDBeeF

Sorry for the long post. I was experimenting while writing and made it further than i thought. Thus i decided to write it all down for someone who wants to try it out. About the bluetooth remote: deadbeef comes with some command-line-parameters to control itself: $ deadbeef --help...

Quick Howto about manually installing xbindkeys.

Maybe later. I am not familiar with doing submissions to the wiki and currently am involved in other stuff. If someone else feels like contributing to the community by adding it, then feel free to do so. ;)

Quick Howto about manually installing xbindkeys.

This is only a quick guide that i split from a different thread. So little knowledge of using a terminal is needed. xbindkeys is a daemon to assign global shortkeys. Something which is broken in the xfce-version the Pandora uses. xbindkeys is not in the opkg-repository and it does not make...

Release PCSX ReARMed, with a new GPU

For CDDA-music, which is what we are talking about here, only wav AFAIK. Sometimes cue-sheets list all tracks as ".bin". So if you converted the APE-files to wav, you might want to take a look at the cue-file with an editor afterwards and if necessary edit the names in it from ".bin" to ".wav"...

    How to press DEL ?

That does help to some extend, but is only a half-hearted workaround. You will not get the key that is labeled "DEL" to work, but make the "INS"-key to act like "Delete" and instead move the "Insert"-command to a different key-combination. Instead of this you could also move "Delete" to...

    How to press DEL ?

I have a similar fallback while at home: I enable USB-networking in the beginning. So if something hangs in fullscreen, then I connect the Pandora to my GentooPC via USB and can ssh to it. That way I don't have to keep WLan running.

    How to press DEL ?

@PowerGod: I will. Meanwhile you can use the following workaround: Type "sudo chvt 1" in a terminal for example.

    Release Brogue

Thanks for the quick response to my comment in the repo. If you ever make an update, then you could consider to mention the ABXY-keys in the documentation. That change is not worth the effort of a release on it's own. A link in the repo to this thread might be of interest as well.

    Slackware for Pandora 14.0

Linux-SWAT: In theory it should still be possible but is some work. And I am not sure how good it would be in the end. I still haven't tried Slackware and thus didn't experience these Toggle-Items myself, but such a Toggle-Item could modify it's own menu-entry in /usr/share/applications by the...

    Release Firefox 17.0.1 in repo

I had strange issues in the beginning, but I think they were not related to the PND. First of all you can run the pnd from a terminal to get a little more output (adjust the path to your system): pnd_run /media/trans8/pandora/menu/firefox-17.0.1-1.pnd When I did this I got a "failed"...

    How to press DEL ?

Thanks for the info. I must admit that I am surprised about that. I was expecting a different result. During the last days I spend quite a lot of time on this topic. The root of the problem seems to be that the modifier "SHIFT" is completely ignored in X for the BackSpace-key. I made various...

Need help with PSXrearmed (please help a new community member?)

You are senile (possibly) and it is really the space key that brings up the menu. :)

Any updated info on the TV-out-cables (SCART)?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Any updated info on the TV-out-cables (SCART)?

I'm patiently waiting for the TV-out-cable since years. And since this is nothing special with Pandora-related stuff, I am still waiting patiently. ;) But somehow I lost the focus on the current state. Although I remember to have read some info in the forums sometimes in between. In my...

<imitates the voice of Linux-SWAT> Cool, but why not the nightly? </imitate>

Snippet: convert Hi-def videos to pandora using mencoder (Linux)

I haven't used the command which I posted that often and I haven't got a lot of knowledge in video-convertion in general. I know there are tons of containers, codecs, bitrates, ... and a hell of other aspects that are important, but for example I don't really know what these "quantizers" are...

    How to press DEL ?

I just realized that the combination CTRL+ALT+backspace would kill X if this would be enabled... This is not a problem for the default PandoraOS as it's not enabled there, but for an alternate PandoraOS this is another reason it should be fixed to work with just SHIFT+backspace. I'll take...

    How to press DEL ?

    The shortkey for a DEL-workaround is cursor-right+backspace. :D <grines> SCNR

    How to press DEL ?

You could try to use some or all settings that I specified in the "/etc/inputrc": Maybe just backup yours and copy this all over for a quick test. Edit: Tried to use CTRL+ALT+backspace in Firefox too: Didn't work.

Snippet: convert Hi-def videos to pandora using mencoder (Linux)

Without having experience to compare the resulting qualities I want to share a line that I used for a conversion-test a long time ago and was pleased with the result. Can't remember on which formats I used it though. ffmpeg -i inputfile -sameq -s 800x480 outputfile
